You need to stop using Vista as Microsoft has not supported it since 2014. OK to use Vista for a while after 2014 because Windows Update still gave security updates for other Windows products (Word, Works, etc.). But now, Windows Update for Vista will not work anymore for anything. At least switch to Windows 7 as Microsoft will probably support it until 2020.
Hello,
I have the same problem, did you find the solution?
I own a M-Audio Firewire 184 and it is not anymore recognized by any system.
I testet in in 4 diferent computers, like Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Mac also.
None of them recognized any soundcard attached.
email: [email protected]
thank you in advance,
Adrian
Try to check the windows audio services in windows service, and make automatic, then try to check if not working then go to device manager and uninstall audio drivers and restart the computer and give some to to automatically install the driver then audi will work in case not working then refresh the driver from device manager and try to download and reinstall the windows audio driver then windows audio will work fine.
updating your windows will be the solution. after updating and the problem still occuring find a driver from the internet, download and install it on your computer. that will solve the problem try to check also the cables from your music hardware and computer vice versa.
If the drivers are still in place what I suggest is to go to the device manager, scroll down and find your realtek audio device, right click on it. Choose to uninstall the device but keep the drivers. Reboot the laptop and let windows find the hardware on the reboot. It will load the drivers and better yet, might just ask if it can check with windows update for an updated driver, click ok and let windows reinstall everything. Reboot afterward just to make sure it all works, if you hear the windows sounds during shutdown and reboot then you know it worked.
Hi, Right click "computer" select "manage"
and then "device manager", a list will populate, then click on the + sign next to "sound controllers" , where it says "audio" right click on that and select "properties" a new window will pop up, click on the "driver" tab and select "roll back drivers", follow the on screen messages and when your done just restart the PC and your audio should be back :)
go to start - control panel - system and maintenance - system - device manager, locate your sound card and uninstall your sound drivers, rebbot the computer and vista should reinstall them for you and they should work again
