Lights out & fridge freezing after switching off and moving it

I have a Candy fridge/freezer. It has worked happily for maybe 2 years. Now the internal light has gone off, the front light that shows it is working has gone off and the fridge freezes its contents. All these faults developed simultaneously after i unplugged and moved it to clean out the drain hole from behind. I unbolted the cooling fins (but hardly noved them)and unclipped the pipe to the drain hole. Once clear, i put all back again.

the fridge part of my frigdge/frrezer keeps on freezing.the lights have gone off replaced bulb and still not working. defrosting ice off back wall made no difference as it started freezing again

Bulb hs gone (and lights on the panel inside the door) and fridge seems stuck on supercool (ie starting to freeze stuff, not super frozen but enough). Wondered if a fuse has blow and the control board/panel isn't working, hence it's stuck on highest value. Struggling to get to any fuses though

I agree that the control board is probably the issue. I noticed that the light inside stopped working. I put a new bulb in but thias didn't work. I then noticed that all the LEDs on the front weren't on either. The compressor seems to be running all the time. If you remove the front of the fridge at the top you can access the control board. I bought one for just under £50. I will let you know if fitting a new one has fixed the problem

A servicing expert told me when bulb goes can cause a failure on control board. others confirmed control board failure occurs often and the only other part that goes is the compressor (and thats really expensive to repair!). control boards can be fitted yourself - mine cost about £50.

Either the thermostat is set to high or you need to replace the thermostat.adjust it to 1/2 way position position and if temp is to cold and it doesnt want to switch off, it means the thermostat is faulty.

1st of all conferm that the compressor is automatically (through Thermostate) going to ON/OFF or not, if it automatically goes OFF, i sugges its OK. and if not its no problum. (Minimum 4 hours rest is Must of a compressor, u can maunally OFF it for daily 4 hours Sleep)

The fridge part of my fridge freezer keeps freezing everything,

Hello

I have the same problem and have talked to the manufacturer. They said to turn off the appliance for 24 hours then it should be good as new when you switch it back on. Obviously you'll have to find somewhere for your freezer contents. I'm going to try this myself tonight.

Candy CPCA250 GB Freezer feezing but fridge not cold

Hello jonnyclewlow
Welcome,

You said, you recently had a problem with my Candy fridge freezer (it defrosted overnight and wasnt cooling at all) and a repair shop diagnosed a thermostat problem. I have replaced the thermostat, Now the freezer freezes without any problems but the fridge does not go cold at all.
Also the compressor is running constantly

This is my first thought

Fresh Food temperature is
too warm. Freezer
temperature is satisfactory.

1. Fresh Food control is set too
warm.
2. Set fresh food control to a colder setting. Allow 24
hours for temperature to stabilize.

3.Then see if you do not have your freezer articles packed full up to the top, or covering the cold air vents usually found in the rear of the freezer compartment.

The fridge and the freezer share the cold air so the air must not be restricted from travel form the freezer to the fridge and back!
This would also cause the compressor to run none stop trying to cool the fridge!
So check your air vents in the freezer.
I'll bet you did not know they were there !
Most of us never notice!
Hope this works for you.
Please let me know that one of these solutions worked for you!
or if you have any questions.
Thank You, huuum
