I have a Casio Exilim ex-z1000. It's about a year and a half old, but about six months ago it stopped turning on. I figured it would be a battery problem so I just yesterday bought a brand new Exilim battery for it at Ritz-Camera. I charged it completely and when I took it off the doc to turn it on, it still did not work. The green shines and then it either does nothing, or the screen shows "Check connections!" I have no idea what this means.

    Is this fixable? Any solutions?

Is the new battery brand new or newly charged? It sounds odd that the camera would suddenly, and for no reason, stop working. Try different ways to check the battery charger, if the one you tried was newly charged. If it was a brand new battery, try charging it. What kind of camera is it, exactly?

Well i fix mine...

make sure your batterie has juice
now put the batterie on the camera
take a toothpick and insert it on the camera-2-USB in the little metalic frame and push it down.
turn the camera on, and it should say, no file ( i have the memori out).
then pres the red camera button and the lens i gonna slide open and presto fix !!!!!

Try removing the battery for 24 hours and allow the battery to charge for that long as well unless you charge the battery in the camera with a docking station then just leave it out also take a good look at the lcd when you try and turn it on see if the image is really dark but their is still a image. one this that I have noticed while working on casio is that a lens error can cause the lcd to be very dark and you can barley see a image but it is there so it causes you to thing the camera is dead. If you do see a image then the problem lies inside and needs to be serviced but if you don't then it lies in the power source. ie battery or power circuit of the camera. after the battery shows charged have it tested with a ohm meter it can help determine if it is a good battery. you can have it checked sometimes at radio shack or a place called batteries plus if you do not have one. I hope this helps out I know it can be frustrating but it happens. good luck.

My camera won't power up with fresh batteries. It died while I was taking photos. I thought the batteries were flat so put in new batteries (two different sets), but the camera wont turn on when the start...

Try plugging your camera in via-usb into your computer. That's usually the most direct way to get power to your camera. If that doesn't work, check the battery door where you insert your batteries. It could be loose or closed incorrectly. If your camera doesn't turn on even after plugging it into your USB, there may be a hardware problem or something that has shorted out (possibly your LCD screen.)
Good luck!

Battery keeps dying

Most likely the charging circuitry has failed. When you fully charge the new battery what does the battery meter read on the camera? Your two options no matter what the case are repair vs. replacement. If you need further assistance let me know.

Camera won't turn on

Here are some simple things to try first for a camera that won't power on. They won't work for every case, but they're worth a try:

Camera won't turn on with new batteries or power cord

I heard from another posting on here and the answer, that someone took fine sandpaper and cleaned off the terminal ends of both battery and camera and blew out the dust particles from that before replacing the battery, then then camera worked. I have yet to try it with my Kodak camera that is 2 years old and suddenly died too! The batteries are fine and work in other cameras.

Digital camera

I had the same problem. After I "tore" the camera apart, I put rubbing alcohol all around the lense where it goes in and out. I then used a high quality synthetic oil that is for Grandfather clocks and other mechanical clocks to oil it again. I then ran the lense in and out (by turning it on and off) quite a few times to help work the oil down into the gears. My camera seems to be working fine now.
