According to Mazda it is a chain.
It is an automatic? You should be on at least your second Transmission fluid change.
Power steering fluid - Most of the time it is just ignored but some people use a turkey baster to **** fluid out of the reservoir and then refill. Doing this several times a year is better than nothing.
Oils can be dumped at Checker/Autozone..
Radiator fluid. You should be on your second time for this too. Do it yourself for less than $10 or pay $80. Disposal of old fluid is not easy.
If you do the brakes yourself, do you ever flush the brake fluid? A bottle of fluid is $5 - a mechanic will charge you $100. You can do it yourself (with the aid of a helper to push the brake). Disposing brake fluid is not simple.
Brake and Radiator fluid have to go to hazardous waste disposal. My city has a few events each year.
You can google these topics and get details (write ups, pics, videos) on other sites. Try and find one that specializes in Mazda 3's. I have a maxima and maxima.org has saved me thousands of dollars.

What will happen if the timing chain on a 2005 mazda 3 snaps willit ruin motor

Yeap sure would but why will it snap, chains last along time I only replace a chain if it gets a bit stretched and starts to rattle and then I usually rebuild the motor, rings, bearings, valve grind, water pump and any thing else while its a part and looks like it needs a birthday, but if you just want to keep it going and compressions good and oil pressures good I have just done the chain to quiet it done and done thousands of miles with no problems every engines got its own problems to figure out. cya Neil

How to know its time for new timing belt

It is assessed by km or miles covered.

The Accord 2.2L - 90000 mi (and I would not go any further)

The Accord 2.7L V6 has a chain and does not need changing

The Accord 3.0L V6 - 90000 mi

Well as of 2005 or so the v6 tribute has a Ford motor that has a timing chain not a belt the 4 cylinder has a Mazda motor that has a belt and should be changed every 90000 miles. So those swing the v 6 has a belt are totally wrong here

Does my Civic have a timing chain or a timing belt

It has a timing belt. Recommended to be replace every 105,000 miles, timing belt also run's your water pump good idea to also replace, your engine is also an INTERFERENCE ENGINE which will damage your cylinder head valve's if timing belt goes bad. Hope this was very helpful.
