BTW, to see if you might have a video card issue, look in your device manager and see if the dreaded yellow ? is there.

The same thing happened to me after I reformatted and reinstalled Windows XP. All that was wrong is that my video driver needed to be updated. I have a Dell laptop, so I just went to the Dell website and downloaded the proper driver from there. Problem solved.

Sounds like your screen settings need to be optimized for performance..go to control panel, system, advanced, and top panel should be visual performance. open that up and see which makes it work a bit faster.

well..then, perhaps you'll find that doing a DeGauss(menu button on front of monitor) will go further.

ahhh..yes...saw the pavilion reference, and that also includes desktops..so, you are having a laptop waving issue? That's from the video chip inside under the palm rest. Only way to do that is to replace entire motherboard(which in my experience is like doing brain and heart surgery at the same time).

Screen keeps scrolling

usually screens will scroll like that if you have accidentally pushed down on the middle mouse button - you will see a circle with a double ended arrow in it. Moving the mouse in any direction will make the page scroll up or down indefinitely until you deactivate the scroll or move your mouse to the centre of the screen where page stops scrolling but is still active.

Tascam DR-05 Blank Screen

Always do the easy thing first, make sure your batteries are good and in right. You may not have the back light on. In your menu scroll down to "other", scroll over to the right. Scroll down to "system", scroll over to the right. Scroll down to "back light", over to the right then move up or down for how ever long you want the black light to stay on.

Hi Graeme, I have an Acer Aspire netbook and I need to be able to scroll the desktop to perform operations in certain software where the screen-windows extend beyond the borders of my screen and there

Hi Juliet,
Thanks for your clarification. Apparently the Sdesk application is discontinued. I did however find something which should be equally or possibly better than Sdesk. You can take a look at:

http://gimespace.com/

They have a free edition available for download although this edition is only able to scroll horizontally. I am not sure of pricing etc. for other editions but please browse the website and let me know if this will solve your problem.
Regards,
Graeme

True - Check box is a virtual switch.

True-ish - Option buttons are essentially the same as check box wearing a different coat. Your checking off options, or looked at another way, turning on or off different options. (Like a check box)
No need to choose 2 or more except dependant on the needs of the program/application in which you are working.

True - Scroll Bars are a means of sliding the content of a document or window around so as to see more content than can be displayed in the current sized window/document.
A scroll wheel on a mouse replaces the need to use the vertical scroll bar.

Side note.. There are now available "mice" with a sidways scroll wheel in addition to the vertical scroll wheel.

I accidentally downloaded a duplicate audio on a mac

I assume you are talking about an audio application you downloaded. Click on your desktop to bring up the Finder and other things on the top of your screen. Go to the word "Go" and scroll down to Applications. Open that up and the list on the right will list all of your applications. Scroll down until you find your audio application. If there are two of them. Highlight the one you do not want. Go to "File" on the top of your screen and scroll down to Move to Trash.

Startup fails to complete properly

When on the screen, and you have no icons hold control(ctrl) down and shift key and press escape(esc) your windows task manager should appear, goto the applications tab, at the bottom goto the tab New Task and left click, another window should appear with a text bar, type in the text bar explorer.exe and click ok, all the icons and your normal screen should reapear.

If your screen goes back to normal goto the start bar and goto run or search and type "regedit".
When the regedit window appears left click the " + " sign next to Hkey_local_mechine the the plus sign on software, scroll down to Microsoft folder and click the plus sign, scroll down to Windows nt folder and click the plus sign, the plus sign on Current version folder, then scroll down to winlogon folder and left click on the folder icon, on the right hand side of the screen look for "shell" double click on the icon and delete everything in the text bar and type explorer.exe and click ok and exit out of the window, restart the pc and everything should be back to normal.

pls post back and tell me what happens.cheers.

Scroll lock in excel 2007

When SCROLL LOCK is on, "SCRL" appears on the Excel status bar. If you press the arrow keys when SCROLL LOCK is on, you scroll one row up or one row down. Or, you scroll one column to the left or one column to the right. To use the arrow keys to move between cells, you must turn SCROLL LOCK off.
