Removed kick-plate to see how to repair blinking green lights. Was told that the keyboard needs to be replaced. If I bought this dishwasher 12/07 & registered on-line, will this be covered under warranty? Also, how do I go about having this work done?

Remove the bottom kick panel there should be a tech sheet glued behind it w/a full trouble shooting portion , your problem is listed there

Mine didn't have a technical sheet under the kick plate.

Mine didn't respond to the key sequence either.

We took a power hit and it wouldn't reset. I went to the breaker box and killed the breaker for about a minute, then turned it back on. That reset it completely. Normal operation now.

Flashing clean light

check behind kick plate for service manual. To clear 7 blinking lights go into diagnostic by doing a finger dance, touch hi temp scour then air dry till it goes into diagnostic this will check all systems .Once finished you will most likely need to change the chopper and junk in or around the sump Cheers

Tip

Flashing or blinking green clean light 7 times?

This dishwasher looks for a temperature rise of the water during a heating cycle if it fails to see this rise for multiple cycles it may shut down and blink the clean light 7 times.

The failure can be wide ranging here are a few things to check before resetting the control.

-The unit not being level so both door switches do not make contact

- The sump plugged up so water is not pumping across the heater (see sump clean out below)

- Not enough water filling the dishwasher

- The heat element is not working

To reset the control use this key dance within 5 seconds press:

HEATED DRY, NORMAL, HEATED DRY, NORMAL

This will cause you to enter the diagnosis cycle once this is finished or you hit cancel the control should be unlocked and ready to use.

Hi my dishwasher won't turn on because the CLEAN Button is blinking what does this mean?

Maybe it blinks 7 times? Most likely the unit did not see the correct temp of water and thinks the heater is not working. you can usually clear this code with a "button dance". usually the 2 buttons are dealing with heated dry cycles or sanitary cycles. press one then the other repetitively 3 to 5 times, eg.(sani-cycle>heated dry>sani-cycle>heated dry...)

Kitchenaid KUDS01FL -Dishwasher - "clean" light wont stop flashing; cant start a new load

Hi,

The clean light usually will blink due to a failure to heat the water properly. This dishwasher looks for a temperature rise of the water during a heating cycle if it fails to see this rise for multiple cycles it may shut down and blink the clean light.
There are a few things to check before resetting the control.
-The unit not being level so both door switches do not make contact

Thank you !

First press your "Sani-rinse" button and the your "Heat Dry" button and toggle between them a couple times. This will reset your control module. If the clean light continues to blink then it means that your heating element needs replacing.  This is not a big job, either. You will need to order a new element and come back for instructions if you can't figure it out quickly....

Whirlpool gu2400 clean light is blinking 7 times

Yes this is a heater fault detection error. The unit may not be heating the water resulting in unsanitary dishes so the unit shuts down in this fault. Also the door may not have completely shut resulting in the heater not working, but everything else does (the heater common line is broken at the door switch. Clear the fault by entering diagnostics with this key dance heated dry, normal, heated dry, normal. All the leds will light, you can then press cancel and try another wash cycle. If fault occurs again, you must repair heater problem.

If you have a Kitchenaid. You need to press in this order.... high temp, energy saver dry, high temp, energy saver dry, the lights will all start blinking, after they are done the cycle will start. Press cancel twice. ;)

Clean light flashing

The clean light should be blinking 7 times, pause, then repaeat if it is doing this -- it is a water heating fault. Use one of the following key dances to clear fault

a) Heat Dry - Normal - Heat Dry - Normal

b)High Temp-Air Dry-High Temp-Air Dry

All the Leds should light up now just press cancel and Unit should operate. If it shuts down again the heater isnt working properly. Some times the door doesnt get shut well and that causes the fault. But the dishes arent very clean if the heater is not working.

Clean light stays on

Chamer, do you have high temp wash, heated dry pads on the control panel? If so do this key dance...high temp wash..heated dry..high temp wash...heated dry. The panel should light up and go through the test mode. Im assuming the clean light is flashing. Post back, let me know..Catriver.
