I would say your blue screen is hardware related.

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

When exactly are you getting the blue screen.

Have you checked if your computer is set to boot of your CD drive in your BIOS?

If you need Clarification to do this let me know.

If you can still boot into Windows goto Recovery Manager option and under that Advanced Options and select SYSTEM RESTORE. This will bring you back to factory default settings. Cheers, Ravi Shanghavi

How do i get to the recovery partion on compaq armada m700

Dear Lizanne,

To get to the recovery partition on your Compaq Armada M700, turn on the notebook and press F11 repeatedly until "Windows is loading files..." displays on the screen. Then, follow the on-screen instructions.

If your notebook originally came with Windows XP or an earlier version of Windows, try pressing F10 to enter recovery instead of F11.

Hope you may find these instructions useful!

Best regards,

Loss my recovery softwear for hp pavilion dm 1

This is from the HP site:
HP recovery discs can be used to return a computer's software configuration to its original condition. HP provides a recovery solution on the hard drive, but it is still a good idea to keep recovery discs stored in a safe place in the event of a hard drive failure. Use the sections in this document to obtain a recovery solution that works best for you.note.pngNOTE:HP computers designed for commercial use, such as Workstations or Pro series, use "Operating System" or "HP Restore Plus" DVDs. To order these types of discs, go to the HP Replacement Part Store . Recovering your computer without recovery discsYou may not need recovery discs to recover the software on your computer. HP provides a recovery solution on a separate area of the hard drive. If the hard drive is still functional, you can still perform an HP system recovery from the hard drive as long as the recovery information has not been destroyed or corrupted. To do a software recovery from the hard drive, turn on the computer and repeatedly press the F11 key until "Windows is loading files..." displays on the screen. If your computer originally came with Windows XP or earlier, press F10 to enter recovery instead of F11.
If you are simply trying to restore the computer to factory install, you may not need the recovery discs.
If you have suffered a hard drive failure, then there are a couple of options on their website, just ensure you have the exact model number of the computer.

CTRL + F11 Doesnt work on my Dell?

Do you get a prompt to press CTRL F11 at startup?
What prompts do you get? You should be prompted to enter setup or hit F12 (I think) for boot options. If you are not prompted to enter system recovery, then you might be out of luck.
If the computer was refurbished, it is possible that the previous owner reformatted the drive and wiped out the recovery partition.

The question I would ask is why are you trying to do a system recovery?
Can't you just uninstall the stuff you don't want?

Acer 5735. There is no help section file on the recovery discs and they do not run automatically How is the recovery carried out?

I believe your operating system is windows vista. If you are running windows vista, follow the steps below:

  1. Click the start menu
  2. Click All programs
  3. Scroll down to Backup and Recovery
  4. Carefully follow the instructions.
Or shut down your system, turn it on again. On the first black appearance screen, look downwards, you will see "press F11" or whatever, press it and allow it to load.

Usually HP's Recovery Disk is F11.

I wish you the best of luck.

Take care

Compaq Presario C300 Recoivery Disc 2 corrupt

Hi John.

F11 process is not working and you get a NTLDR missing when you turnon the notebook.

Steps to be performed:
1. Perform hard drive self test from BIOS.
2. If it is passed then use retail version of operating system disk to install XP or try using new recovery disks which nay cost you $15.00.

In your notebook model this issue appears if there is any issue with the hard drive.

Lost recovery disc

You have three options here; 1. Download a Linux Live CD (such as DamnSmallLinux) to access the files necessary to build the recovery CD's 2. Check whether there is a hidden recovery partition on your drive. To do this, press F11 when the computer is starting up (if F11 does not take you to the recovery screen, try ALT+F10 or ALT+F11). This will allow you to restore the machine in the same manner as your recovery CD's did (manufacturers often put the recovery partition on the drive in addition to CD, just incase the CD gets misplaced). 3. Contact Acer and have them send you a copy of the recovery CD (they will usually charge you for this).
