I have a customer site that has the problem that the print gradually moves up the page by about 1/4 line per print job. I checked it out myself and the symptoms are these: The spacing does not change within a job and so you can print 40-50 pages and see no change. The spacing does change with each new job and the print moves up the page slightly. After about 10 jobs the print has moved up 2-3 lines. This also occurs when doing test prints from the front panel. The configuration seems to be proper for the forms they are using. (Green band wide paper) I have no manual for this printer. (I do have it for the 4230/4232 but these seem to be different enough that the instructions are not the same.) Any suggestions?
Sounds like the configured paper sized does not match the actual paper page height. So that when it does Top Of Form paper movement the paper stops slightly too low. Doing several form feeds should confirm this. If this is it then reconfigure the paper size to match the paper. Also measure to paper to see if it matches what you want it to be.

To check if this is a hardware issue, please print a menu settings page. The purpose of this diagnostic is to check if this is a software issue or a hardware issue.
1. Press Menu to display Menus. 2. Press "down" until the "check" appears next to Reports. 3. Press "Check". 4. Press "down" until the "check" appears next to Menu Settings Page. 5. Press "check". The message Printing Menus Settings appears on the display. The printer returns to the Ready state after the menu settings page prints.
If the menu settings page printed without the dots, this would be a software issue. In that case, please call our Technical Support Hotline on (800) 539-6275.
The most common cause of missing sections in the letters is a bad print head. These types of printers (Dot Matrix) create the print with the print head which has a line of small pins called hammers that are activated by an electromagnet. Each pin has its own hammer. If the electromagnet fails or you have something jamming the hammer then it will not move to strike the ribbon and make the image or letter. You can get a replacement print head online for about $15.00, the part number is 50063802. Here is a picture of what the print head looks like. :
Might be your gap is set to high. try moving the right lever from A to B for example and see if it clears it out. Also might be your parallelism, you will find to hex screws on the right and left of the platen assy that u can adjust. This will balance out the shuttle if one side is printing to light and another is printing to dark. Rory 708-597-4222
Have you tried to check the print settings? Click on Start>Control Panel>Printers(Printers and faxes)> Right Click on the DFX-9000 printer icon>left click on properties>click the printing preferences button located below the properties box. In this window you should see the setting of the printer itself.
Try running couple of these test, to see if it might be another issue.
It should be printing these test at 1500 Line Per Minute... ?
1500LPM is at 10CPI if you have (Font size: 6, 8, 12, 14) it will make a difference.
Change your driver to Generic/Text, rerun your report... any difference?
