Question about AMD Asus K8N-E-DELUXE nForce3 Mainboard (MBASK8NEDLX) Motherboard
The connector on the motherboard has failed and I am using an altrnative connector. The motherboard keeps telling me that the connector has failed and that i should pree F1 to continue.
Is there a solution?
There is probably an option in your system setup (BIOS) that will disable the CMOS from detecting a dead fan. While you may be putting yourself in harm's way should the fan actually die and the shutoff mechanism is thereby disabled, it sounds like since you're using an auxiliary connector this wouldn't apply to you anyway.
Check the BIOS setup (generally accessed by pressing F1, F2, F10, del, or ESC when the system first POSTs) for hardware monitoring and see if you can turn it off.
