It is fairly easy to open the gampad by removing the screws. Be careful and make a note of where everything is inside. Do not force it open. The real problem will be fixing the loose connection. The cable has four separate cores (wires) inside and you il need to strip the outer sleeving back to expose the wires. These are all insulated so you will not be able to see easily which wire is broken inside (there may be more than one). If you have a multimeter then you can ceck for continuity for each core from the USB connector to the connector inside the gamepad. If not, then your best bet is to connect it to the PC and fx each core to find the one causing the problem.
Once you locate the faulty core you need to locate where the break in the core is - probably near where it exits the gamepad - then cut through the insulation to expose the copper wire inside. The two broken ends can then be soldered back together and insulated with tape. When putting back together, try to get all the exposed portion of cable inside the controller.
I have encountered a similar issue before. What works, is to try the update of your chipset's driver. This could be an error once present in your chipset's initial release, but has since then been fixed by your chipset's manufacturer. Also this could another among the millions of peculiarities in the windows operating system, i say this for it is very possible the the controller will function well if a game is started while the controller is already plugged in. Just see if it works, but an amendment to the chipset's instruction set would be optimal.
Logitech does not provide any gaming software for the Mac platform. However,
Logitech gaming devices are supported natively in Mac OSX. This means you can
still use your Logitech gaming device, provided that the game you are playing
supports a gamepad, joystick, etc.
If you are using a gamepad, and you'd like more programmability, you
can use third party software such as Gamepad Companion. Keep in mind that this is third party
software and you should contact the manufacturer of the software should you
have any issues or questions about using the software.
i just bought the gge910 wireless and cant get it to work so i called many tech lines untill i found someone that had thier number. 1-919-573-7854. im running with vista and they are going to email me updated drivers for it that they claim will resolve the problem. my issuse is that the edtior profile on the loadmanager flikers between buttons 1 and 8 so i cant assign keys to any other button. the other issue is that they told me that i will recieve it in 48 hr. i dont think that i will make a purchase with them again even if it does work. good luck.
