Stapler fault for the finisher model FS-529 or FS-527? Open front of copier not the toner section. To your left you see a green knob. turn it to bring the stapler unit to you. Maybe the person replacing the staples did not properly install the staple cart so it popped out. Look inside as you bring the stapler to you. re-seat it then close the door to reset the machine.
E532 Main cause Stapler shift motor (M10) Stapler shift home position sensor (P16) Detection The stapler shift home position sensor does not go OFF when the stapler shift motor is driven for 4 sec. The stapler shift home position is not detected when the stapler shift motor is driven for 4 sec.
Do you have a 10 or 20 bin finisher? I'm guessing you have a 10 bin. Did you install the stapler cartridge in correctly? There is a small black plastic gear that cracks and the stapler will not work. The two way's to solve the problem is to replace the gear or the stapler unit. Both may be had to find. Good Luck

An E532 happens when the stapler unit either does not move from front to rear, or rear to front, or hangs up and stops part of the way. A broken stop gate can get in the way of a stapler and keep it from moving. Usually the two inside gates are the problem. The bottom spring may have fallen off when the plastic tab on the bottom of the gate (which holds the spring) breaks off. Or the parts of the gates that come in contact with the white rollers on the stapler assembly become dry and need to be greased to allow the stapler to slide past them. Also check the wiring harness that runs from under the stapler, through an opening and then connects to the stapler itself. Wires have been known to break internally at the wire-tys and cause erratic E532s. Check each wire with a meter for continuity. Hope this helps a little.
Check your stapler. If you removed a jam from the sorter you may have accidentally moved the stapler so it is not sitting at a 45 degree angle when you open the front door of the sorter. There's a little lever you can push to swivel the stapler, however don't try to force it. You may have to pry up the plastic lock that is under the stapler with a small screwdriver. Sometimes the stapler assy has to partially removed (slid to the front) of the sorter to be able to see what you're doing.
