Question about Fine Digital FineDrive 400 GPS Receiver

2 Answers

No gps signal 3 days now.

It will not receive a gps signal. everything else is fine. I tried to reset the gps but it tells me to stop navigation first. I deleted all my recent addresses and favorites so I didn't have any but it still says stop navigation first. The screen that comes up is my last location and I can't or don't know how to delete it. Is there a hidden reset button or a service manual or something I can do? Plase help. Thank you

How can you copy your original data as the instructions suggests if you can not open it with windows because of the different file format and windows saying the drive is not formatted?

Insert the SD card into your reader, it is
recommended that you copy all files in it to a backup directory."

On the menu screen you should see exit at the top. when you click this you will get a screen to exit navigaiton as if to go to the mp3 player, from there click on setup and then gps reset.

if you have the genie lamp on the bottom left of the navigation screen then you have the old version, you can upgrade using these files and instructions:

My tom tom says no gps signal for the last two weeks. How do I fix this.

Did anything change in your environment (new car?) two weeks ago?

What happened immediately before you lost signal?

Is everything else working okay on the unit?

Have you updated everything with Tom Tom Home?

Have you tried resetting the unit (paperclip in the small hole on the bottom of the navigator)?

Have you tried resetting factory defaults? (Menu item under Change Preferences; you need to Show All Menu Items to see this one.)

BTW, nobody's satellite got hit by anything.

GPS signal has stopped all of a sudden.....one year old device

My Pilot GPS has the same symptom. Their tech support tells me that all Pilot GPS users have this problem. He received an email from some one of authority (within their company) this afternoon. The email blames the problem on satellite sign strength being reduced for GPS signals.

He tells me that there is suppose to be some sort of solution in place by this Sunday morning. Every Pilot owner will need to reset there system to adjust to this change .... whatever it is.

This issue is, in some way, related to changes having been made to support signal strength improvments for digital broadcast TV..... I don't

Have you tried to reset everything to Factory state? Both GPS and System? If it doesn't help then restore Sanyo map software from supplied DVD. Something must be missing or corrupted.

STOCK IN ONE POSITION

Try a GPS reset, exit navigation, click on setup, click on GPS reset. then restart navigation. check the gps status screen to make sure you are getting signals. if not, you could have a failed antenna or GPS receiver in the unit.

Navman icn510 gps reciever problem

How long are you waiting and are you moving while it is trying to acquire signal? These receivers are using older circuitry that may take up to 20 minutes to first acquire a signal from a cold start. If you are moving it may take longer!!! The good news is that after you have initially acquired a location, if you turn the unit off it will only take a minute or so to reacquire after it has "warmed" up.
