Open the CD case or packaging that came with Word 2007 when you bought it as physical media, either from an in-store or online retailer. Find a sticker with the 25-character Product Key for Word 2007 or the whole Office suite.
Look for a Certificate of Authenticity in the computer packaging. It includes a small seal or sticker. The certificate will have the 25-character code you need.
Look for a sticker on your computer if you bought it with Office pre-installed. It may be on the back or bottom side and will have your Product Key listed there.
Open your email account that you provided when you bought Microsoft Word 2007 from Microsoft Office Online. When you made the purchase, you were sent a confirmation email with the purchase details and the Product Key you need. Search your email archives until you find the message.
Contact Microsoft if you have lost your Product Key. To do so, run the Product Activation Wizard in Word 2007. Open Word and click the "Microsoft Office Button." Click "Word Options." Select "Resources." Under "Activate Microsoft Office," click "Activate." Begin the wizard to find the Microsoft Support telephone number you need to call. Make sure you have the Word 2007 or Office 2007 CD and your computer serial number available.
you can locate the product key on the sticker on the cd packaging. it's a 25 digit alpha-numeric code. if you purchase this software online, it's on the email confirmation sent to you.
Here is my solutions to fix this problem without getting boot leg copies and getting into trouble - Contact Microsoft, let them know that you had a system crash and reinstalled your Office XP suite. They will ask you a few questions like how many computer is this suite installed on and then issue you a new key (FREE of charge). You can find the phone number if you try to register Office, it should ask if you want to do it online or by phone. Follow the instructions and that's it. Good luck with the key and your project.
If I understand your problem... You do not have the product key? Or, are you having problems installing the product key?
If you have a bootleg copy of the software, there is nothing that can be done for you.
You must not have the program installed on other computers. You must purchase an original Microsoft CD. No product key is required for the trial period, unless that has changed in Office 2007. Did you purchase a new computer with office 2007 installed already? ..............
-- If you do have a legal version... First check and see if your "Caps Lock" is on? Be absolutely sure that you are entering the registration code EXACTLY as printed, Use CAPITAL LETTERS as printed, and lower case letters as required. If it still won't work.... Call Microsoft and explain the situation, have a magnifying glass handy to read the tiny engraved lettering in the center of the CD disk. If you have some kind of sales receipt, or other "Proof of Purchase" have it handy too. They can create a new product key for you. This method will only work if you have a legal copy of the program.
