First, make sure your batteries are good.

For moving the slides ahead, there is a button that says next page. When you push that, it will advance.

O, another things is that you must connect your computer to the projector with a USB cable. I assume that you are trying to run it from a computer.

Perhaps you could explain more about what you are using.

Some mouses stop responding if you do not use it for a few minutes. This is usually a battery saving feature. Usually all you got to do is use the scroll button to reactivate the mouse by scrolling up or down. This will bring the mouse back to life. When you change the ports you are actually doing the same thing (reactivating). Also check whether battery needs changing.

What function key, etc. do I need to use to communicate with a digital projector from my inspiron 1545 laptop? ...

The on-line documentation is scanty (there are about a dozen Ultralight models, but I could not find a link to manuals for any of them), but I've found the following general information:

To cycle between LCD, projector, or both displays, look for a Fx key (it may be F8) with either a monitor icon or "LCD/CRT" over it. To use the key for this operation, hold down the Fn key (labeled in the same color as the monitor icon, probably located to the left of the space bar) and press the Fx key. The brightness and contrast controls work the same way.

I found no reference to controlling the projector from the keyboard. The USB connection on models that have one works in the opposite direction; it lets you use the projector's remote control as mouse buttons to go through slides in a presentation.

My dell d630 laptop wont recognize my infocus lp70+ remote control and I can't advance my powerpoint slides with the remote control

Here's what the User's Manual says:

Using the Remote Control

To advance PowerPoint slides with the projector's remote, you

must connect the USB cable on the projector's computer cable to

the computer. See page 8 for more information.

Point the remote control at the projection screen or at the front or

rear of the projector (not at the computer). The range for optimum

operation is about 30 feet. If you point the remote at the

projection screen, the distance to the screen and back to the projector

must be less than or equal to 30 feet. For best results, point

the remote directly at the projector.

If you are displaying presentations in Microsoft® PowerPoint®,

you can use the remote's Previous and Next buttons to navigate

through your presentation while in Slide Show mode.

Hitachi cp-s240 remote question

Hitachi data projectors are able to function as a mouse using either the USB port or the control port located on the back of the projector.

However, they are not intended to be used as a remote presenter. This means that although you can use the remote as a mouse, you will not be able to change slides in a full screen slide show using powerpoint.

I recommend the Targus remote presenter for this purpose. This device will function as a mouse, pointing device, and will allow you to change slides in powerpoint. In addition, it's inexpensive, wireless, and small enough to easily fit in your pocket.

Will not change slides forward/backward, remote focus ok,

Your problem is most likely caused by a broken wire under the control panel or a wire somewhere in the "cycle circuit" that is no longer connected. You should seek out a factory-trained repair dealer who has a schematic that can trace down your projector problem.

How to Use remote to forward slides of PP presentation

Hi Carolyn

You'll see that the Projector came with a USB cable. The USB cable should be connected from your PC to your Projector and this will enable you to flick through your slides with the normal BenQ remote control.

Thanks for using Fixya !
