Cartridge problems with the P915 Lexmark printer.

My p915 Lexmark printer will not accept the colour cartridge, although I have put in a new colour cartridge in it, it keeps on telling me to put a new colour cartridge in.

Thanks Geno for trying, but I have cleaned the contacts and bought two new cartridges and tried them but to no avail.

    To IBG42008 thankyou for answering.

All I can see on the panel is a message telling me to install another colour cartridge, when I have already put in another new cartridge. The black cartridge is fine it is only the colour cartridge that I am having problems with.

WE have done all of these instructions and the Lexmark P915 STILL WILL NOT accept that there is a new Color Cartridge there and thus, it is now affecting ALL printing, as the b&w message square comes up stating that there is NO cartidges there and wants one to click onto one of two lines which have to do with ordering directly from Lexmark.
NOW is there any way that you can send numbered instructions on how to clean the small hole area which is we were told supposed to be below that area where the cartridges go? There is supposed to be a small hole where ink will dwell and harden and that is what now needs to be cleaned. Know this is highly technical, but willing to do the work. Please send detailed instructions.

First check they compact able once, refilled cart are recognizied
by printer,,,,

Cleaning the contacts on the cartridge carrier

Step Action
1 Power the printer/All-In-One off and unplug the power cable from the outlet.
2 Open the printer/All-In-One lid so that the cartridge carrier can be accessed.
3 Gently move the cartridge carrier into a position where cartridges can be removed.
4 Remove the print cartridges. (For information on cleaning the cartridge contacts, click here.)
5 Using a dry, clean cloth wipe the carrier contacts gently from top to bottom.
6 Repeat Step 5 for the other cartridge slot (if applicable).
7 Reinsert the cartridges, slide the cartridge carrier to its original position, and close the printer/All-In-One lid.
8 Plug the printer/All-In-One back into the power outlet and power it back on.

If your cartridges are not being detected when they are snapped in, do the following:
Open the cover of the printer and unsnap both cartridges.
Snap them back in after a few seconds. Close the cover.
Repeat these steps (1-2) three or more times in succession. You will be prompted to go through the menu on the printer display to finish the process. Follow the instructions displayed.
If your printer is posting a LOW INK LEVEL or CHANGE CARTRIDGE error, snap the cartridges in and out as directed above (steps 1-3). When you close the front cover, you should see the message Cartridge Change - NEW on the display.
Press Select to indicate that you have just installed a new cartridge.

So you can not see the cartridge on the panel, or the printer, won't accept the cartridge when you install it?

What type of power cable is required for P915. thank you. I just have a USB.

Lexmark P915 requires 25 Watt HV Adapter (220 - 240V AC, 50/60 Hz) in HV countries OR
25 Watt LV Adapter (100 - 127V AC, 50/60 Hz) in LV countries.
So, you have to buy a power supply as per above specification.

In case the cable marked at '2' above is missing, you can find/ use a similar cable, which can be purchased from a local computer store.

I have a P915 printer that even though there is paper loaded and no paper jam the paper won't feed. It will start to run and the message "add paper" appears. It appears the "feeder...

There could be some sort of foreign objects that fell into the paper feed system. Remove the sheets of paper from the printer. Grab a flashlight and look into the feeder for any debris. If you are capable and willing, you may carefully turn the printer upside down so any foreign objects will just freely roll out from the feeder.
Re-seating your cartridges may also help resolve the problem. Remove and properly reinsert your cartridges in the cartridge carrier. Turn off/on your printer to reset it.

How can I install my Lexmark P915 printer to my vista O/S laptop

Unplug the printer usb cable from your computer. To install, I suggest you use the Lexmark P915 printer software you can download from the Lexmark website. But check if your Vista is running on 32-bit or 64-bit operating system by clicking on the Windows logo Start menu > right click on Computer > Properties. For 32-bit, click on this link: http://bit.ly/9MpwNB. For 64-bit, click on this link: http://bit.ly/d4tR3d. Download and install. Follow the instructions carefully. Hope this helps. If you need more assistance, leave a comment and I'll get back to it. Thanks.

Error 1203 and carrier jam error

Error 1203 on a Lexmark is an issue that occurs either when a cartridge is bad or the printer cartridge Slot is bad... I would suggest you to try cleaning the copper contacts of the both carts and cart slot in the printer and try again..

If that doesn't work just call up their support number and check for replacement..

I have replaced both cartridges in my Lexmark printer P915 but it continues to tell me that the colour cartridge is missing can you please advise me what to do?

Please remove the color cartridge and reset it in place. Also, make sure there is nothing on the back of the cartridge where the circuit boards touch. (Plastic Cover, etc) Power off the printer and power it back on. If you still have the problem, please place the OLD cartridge back in the printer removing the new one. If it sees the old cartridge, but not the new one you need another new cartridge. The one you have may be dried out, or bad so the printer won't regonise it.
