Question about Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 for PC
Hello, I am having problems configuring Googlemail through Outlook. I follow all the advice on http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=77661 but it's not working on either my work or home computer. at work I am windows xp service pack 2 and at home I am vista business. I have treid to find solution on line but have only found other people asking the same question! Thanks, Fiona
Go back into your email accounts setup and follow step by step.
under the internet email settings your server info for incoming should be pop.gmail.com and outgoing should be stmp.gmail.com
click on the more settings button
click on the outgoing server tab on the new windown
be sure the my outgoing server requires authentication box is checked and the radio button that says use same settings as incoming is selected.
click the advanced tab
check the box under incoming server that says this server requires an encrypted connection and enter 995 in the value
check the box under out going server that says this server requires an encrypted connection and enter 465 in the value
Your account should work fine with this setting
