You may want to download drivers and new updates for this model from the link above. You have to select your version (2) and you'll see the download to your left on the page.
Try plugging it into another USB port.and or another computer if you have one available. Test the USB port with another device to see if it maybe the problem. Also make certain your plugs are snugly in their sockets. But it I think you are right on target with the defective device point of view. If you ruled out the things listed above...defective. Hope this helps, please leave rating, thank you
if you have installed the device on an XP sp1 and does not have the PWA patch this will be the error. it will be best to contact your Linksys Tech support at 1-800-326-7114 and they may need to install the adapters wireless utility to get you conencted.
hi ganges, at this point there is a possibility that the wireless adapter's drivers where removed, corrupted or just needs an update. please click on the link below to see the steps needed to be done to reinstall the device or perform a driver update.
this is a sign of a resource conflict on your computer, there is no actual issue ont he card or the computer, only a conflict or an incompatibility, the only way to get around this issue is to reinstall the card in another PCI slot in your computer or have the adapter replaced with another version or perhaps an wireless USB adapter of the same brand, like the WUSB54GS.
hope this helps, if you have other questions just let me know.
If pc is xp, go to control panel(on classic view), click SYSTEM icon, click HARDWARE(tab on top), click DEVICE MANAGER. Double click NETWORK ADAPTERS. The Linksys Wireless Adapter should be there. If not, unplug and replug the wireless adapter then start again from the beginning of this solution. If the Linksys Wireless Adapter shows under NETWORK ADAPTERS, right click it and click properties. If you see THE DEVICE IS WORKING PROPERLY, then the problem might be your wireless router.
