Question about Olympus Cameras
I have a Olympus Stylus 770 SW camera; the batter wont charge properly. In the manual it says that when charging the charger will have a red light & when its finished charging the light will turn off. When I charge my battery, theres a flashing light & when i put my battery back into the camera , my camera wont turn on. Is there something wrong with the battery or the battery charger? What can i try to do? Thanx
It may be the battery - try using one of your spare batteries, see if that makes a difference.

After only 15 days mine did the same thing. I called the dealer Olympus and they gave me a RAN number and told me where to send it. I got a call about a week later. They said because the camera had moisture inside I was not coverd. The best they would do is mail me a rebate card for 25 dollars off my next purchase. I was like WTF. The woman said sorry but that was all they could do. When I asked to speak to manager she hung up.

Get a new camera something broke on the inside of this one the term shock proof does not cover dropping the camera and the term waterproof does not cover submersion in water these terms must be taken very lightly shockproof means a good shaking won't bother the camera and waterproof means a drop or two of rain wont bother the camera. GOOD LUCK

Your problem may be due to weak/worn out batteries or corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera which can prevent the full power of the batteries from flowing into the camera. Try this free fix before you do anything else: remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and place them back in the camera. This cleaning clears the problem about 90% of the time. If it doesn't work for you, chances are that your batteries need to be replaced because they're just too worn to properly power the camera. And then, of course, there's the possibility that your camera may have a problem that requires professional repair.
