Dear Experts, can you help please?we have a sony tv model kv-m2521u in for repair-tho old its a tidy low hours set and hopefully worth repairing. The fault is a collapsed frame, however at the time of writing we have no circuit diagram or information.Iv taken a look inside and found a hefty diode/rectifyer board ref-d612 pt no-ctu12s with all3 legs badly cracked/dry-jointed alongside 2 hefty 2200mu caps these all look at a guess tobe in the frame circuitry-can anyone confirm or help further-any assisstance or circuit information greatfully recieved-Paul.

that problem is very common on a sony tv,the sound IF and video IF of your tv is bad..video and sound IF is located near the tuner section of your tv.some sony model, the IF section and TUNER section are packed in one enclosure. it your tv sound IF is packed together with the tuner, then replace the tuner with a new one.some are packed separately so you need to replace just the IF module only..you can also try to adjust the IF by using a plastic smsll screw driver adjust the IF clock wise or counter clock wise untill you achive a good reception do it with the tv power is on..be carefull with the high voltage...
How old is this tv?More than 5 years old.Not worth it to repair CRT tv at this prices.Tries unplug, replug an hour later, might help, see if reset itself.U can buy a pretty good 32" LCD tv at $400 or less these day.It not heavy as the CRT tv,it alot easier to move the tv around the house or other locations.
Volume is too low on my old Sony Trinitron KV-27S45
Can i fix it with out parts?

your problem is a stand-up printed curcuit pcb it has several mof those small surface mounted caps that always goes bad and the # on the part is SBX1981or SBX1981-51p its part # is 874213400 its about 11 to 15 bucks . Dont try to repair the part as the pcb is eaten up from the caps leaking all over it. Good Luck
