Question about Computers & Internet
QB Ed 2008,
When I try and open the file on the server it comes up with Error: -6177,0 cannot use this path.
When I put the same file on the desktop, opens fine.
I uesed the QB database server manager, but it will not scan a server, only local drives.
How do I fix ?
Error -6177 means that the file is not accessible at the location QuickBooks is trying to open it.
The reasons for this may be:
1. The network is offline. Make sure that the directory is available or that you're still connected to the network.
2. The file was deleted by someone else available on the network.
3. If you have recently updated Quickbooks from an earlier version, then the cause may be a bug with the product itself. It has been reported by other users that they experience Error 6177 everytime they try to open a previously existing file.
