Hi , i changed the battery in my car and lost the radio. don't have the code and the rover dealers are charging me 35 to reset the code. i looked for numbers on the radio and came up with the type/model # 22dc597/60b and product # fd0499181092172 also a part# xqd101260
the radio itself seems to be inbuilt into the rover, its a 400series car.
can anyone give me the code????

Hi Ian, if it is not in your owners manual (written down) then you may have to pay someone online. Try google "Rover car radio codes" or sweet talk your local Rover dealer, they can get you your code -free, although sometimes for a fee. Online the cost should be £10, or less. Hope this helps.
We may be able to help with this but need more information. Each radio has its own individual security code. There is no blanket code that covers Freelanders for example.
You will need to supply the serial number and part number of the radio itself so we can identify what radio you have. This will involve removing the radio from the dash to find the serial number which is on a label at the back or stamped into the metal casing of the radio itself.
Post this information up and we can advise from there.
You will need to get the papers that came with your car,
search all the documents that came with the car, the code to reset your
car radio is written on one of the documents that came with your car. If
you cannot get it, you will need to get the serial number on your radio
and contact the dealer for the reset code, because, the dealers have
the reset code, but you will need to tender prove of ownership before
this can be done.
Good day Jill, log on to www.radio-code.com You can get the instructions and code to get your radio working again. There is a small fee, but it's much better then the dealer and you get to keep the radio code and instructions so the next time you have to replace the Battery and you have the same problem you can address the issue. But just in case you have to replace the Battery, make sure you have the radio turned off. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to know if you got your radio working again.
Slide the radio out and record the Radio serial number stamped on the case.Contact your nearest Land Rover dealer and they have to request this from the factory. They will only give this to you if it is not reported stolen.
if you pull radio out write down serial # off radio. once you got # call dealer and they shold be able to give you radio #. if they don't I could get it for you. I work at an independent shop in MA and we work on merc bmw porsche land rover volvo . My e-mail is email@example.com
