Question about Pioneer DEH-P2900MP CD Receiver /AM/FM/MP3/ CD Player
Installed it on my 2000 cadillac deville with onstar interface adapter using the rca jacks for front and rear speakers but volume is really low. cant hear it very well until volume level 25
There is no power from the rca jacks. Option 1; connect the speaker wires directly. Any aftermarket auto manual (Hayes, Clymer) with wiring schematics will let you know what wire is what in the dash. Option 2; RCA jacks output to an amplifier. There is no power coming from the RCA jacks. They have to be used with the amp. If you chose to use the normal speaker wires, be aware that these radios do not like stock speakers or wire. If you take the time and money to replace all of it, the head unit will last much longer. If you choose to use an amplifier, it will burn out fast unless you replace the speakers and wires immediately.
