Question about Lexmark X4270 All-In-One InkJet Printer

My Lexmark X4550 won't print

I have my printer since it's a WI-FI set up to my PC with a USB wire. And my lap top with my wireless set up. Everything worked up to yesterday but today it won't print off either computer. The Light is RED, not GREEN. And I have unplugged things, Undone the wires Turn my computers off & back on, tried pinging it but NO LUCK< HELP!

    OH why SHOULD anybody buy your PREMIUM ASSISTANCE PLAN when if some one was smart they call the manifacturer of the product. I didn't because I lost the number & thier web site doesn't have the number on it and I say DUH to them, but found it another way. A Wiser Woman from all this, Hdbabe (YES I RIDE A HARLEY< TEE HEE HEE.)

    Mine was not the same model as this Lexmark.... but I was having the same error... it worked fine one day... didn't have any paper jams... then it just stopped working... I just threw mine in the trash and bought a HP since I called the Lexmark "help center" and couldn't understand a word the guy was saying... his English was so broken and he was rude. I bought the same printer for my parents shortly after I purchased mine... and their printer is doing the same thing... won't copy or print anything. The scanner works though... They called the 800 number too and ended up hanging up because they couldn't understand a word they were saying...

    iv set up my wireless printer x4550 to my laptop, it will scan from laptop to printer but wont print, it says printing complete but nothing coming out of my printer???

    I have a lexmark x4550 and it keeps telling me that there is a paper jam when there is NO paper jam, I have done all the usual fixes and Turning off, resetting taking oout paper etc. but it still says there is a jam. Is there a way to clean the sensor or any other tricks?

Try checking for paper jams inside the actual machine usually the jams occur near the cartrige. take out the cartrige check and re insert it. another problem could be the cartrige itself change that and your problem could be solved. regards

Here are some guidelines to identify and fix your wireless communication issue:
  • What is the status of the Wi-Fi light on the printer? Green light means that it's connected to a wireless network while Orange light means it's not connected to a network.
  • Try to print the printer's wireless network settings to determine if it's connected to your own wireless network. On the printer operator panel, touch the Setup button > Network Setup > Print Setup Page. Your printer will then print the its wireless network information page. Ensure that the printer is connected to your network by checking the Network Card Status, Wireless SSID, Quality or Trouble Code.
  • If printer is not connected to your network, you may need to reset your printer's wireless network settings. On the printer operator panel, press Setup button > Network Setup > Reset Network Settings. The Wi-Fi light on the printer will momentarily turn off then back on to solid orange. You can then run the Wireless Setup Utility application on your computer to reconfigure the printer to connect to your wireless network. On your computer, launch the Lexmark Printer Home application > go to Settings tab > Wireless Setup Utility. Please follow the instructions on your computer screen.

Hi - my x4550 lexmark printer wont print, can you help?


If your printer won't print when you're making a copy using the Copy button on the operator panel, it could be due to your ink cartridges. Try to re-seat your ink cartridges into the printer and make sure they are properly seated.
If you're not able to print from your computer, it could be a communication problem. A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer (if usb-connected), reboot your computer and unplug/replug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer. Try to print again.

Try to reset the wireless network adapter for your Lexmark Z1420 printer. Follow the steps in this article: How to Reset the Z1400 and Z1500 Series Network Settings. bring usb wi-fi from market it will turn your computer to wi-fi capable, other wise you need usb cable to connect printer with you laptop and drivers as well..

"Bi Directional Printing" is a statement of Parallel Port printing. Are you connected from your PC to the Printer via the parallel port?\

Did you disconnect the USB cable form the PC and then delete the current driver prior to installing the Win 7 driver?

when you look at the icon of the printer does it have a check mark on it or in the upper right hand corner of the icon? you can also make sure its the default printer by right clicking the icon and selecting "default printer" then try doing another print test.

You needn't go for any Server, just get a USB Wi Fi Dongle (If your Printer uses the Wi Fi technology). Install it and turn it on. If your Printer has Wi Fi connectivity, the Dongle will sense the Signals & will detect your Printer and you'll have all the options similar to Wired printer. For more help, you may call a Service Personnel or the vendor that sells you the dongle will be of help in this concern.
