Tascam us 144 sync problems with cubase le

Hi,

I cant get the 144 to sync with cubase le. It still records, but always give the sync error when I open cubase. Can anyone enlighten me? Also does anyone know how to setup cubase le to record multi tracks from mixer at once? (want to record live sound and place each track from the mixer into its own track in cubase)
Thanks for your help

I have a variation of this problem. Initially the digital input (48kHz) is recognized and it records and exports to a wav OK but after doing this a few times and some editing, cubase drops the signal. When I close cubase, it crashes. Sometimes I re-start Cubase or reconnect the USB and it works.

Is this a Vista problem? If so, is it caused by incompatibility with Cubase or Tascamm?

Hey lea,

i have a similar setup (Cubase LE & Tascam 144) and each time i start up Cubase i have to make sure there is no digital input going to the tascam. once cubase is started up but no project loaded i plug in my spdif from my DAT machine and then open my project and all is fine. does that answer part of your question?

i have a different problem though, i'm trying to record my DAT tapes which are recorded at 32khz and cubase doesn't recognize that sample rate properly. it'll record no problem, and play them back fine, but exporting always creates mismatched sample rates in the exported file. sucks big time and i have got no idea on how to fix it either.

Cubase 4 LE did not work for me with the Tascam US-144 under Windows Vista until I downloaded the 4.1.2 update of Cubase 4 LE from www.steinberg.net. My US-144 was using the latest Vista drivers and firmware from Tascam.

Recording on cubase le4 using my tascam us122 mk2

You're probably not recording through your tascam interface. Go to control panel -> sound, and then select the us122 as your default sound device. Close cubase and open it again. Then go to devices -> device setup, and then under your asio drivers, select asio us122. That should solve it

Make sure phantom power is enabled on the Tascam audio interface and you must enable the input in cubase that corresponds with the interface input on the track you are trying to record to.

Tascam US-144

Hi,

Can you tell me how you have the 144 connected to your speakers, and your computer? Besides that, one quick fix might be to turn the MON MIX in the upper left corner, all the way to the right.

If that doesn't help, please post your ins and outs.

Hi

I would perhaps try to reinstall the drivers for the device, and be sure that under audio settings, you have the Tascam set as the default device. Try this and get back to me here if it still gives you problems.

you might want to downgrade to xp because vista uses alot of ram to run it. you could also get more ram. you need about 1gb and a half to 2 gigs to run most recording softwares and interfaces. i personally use vista cause i lost my xp disk and i got 2 gbs of ram and everything runs great, but if you really want to get into recording do what im doing and save up and buy a mac.
