Question about LG Flatron 295LM 22" LCD Monitor

1 Answer

DVI connection I have RADEON 9800 SERIES video card (with latest driver installed - Feb '08 update) and have problems using the DVI connector with my Flatron 295LM LCD. Once connected and source LCD changed to DVI input, there is no signal? Is this a known problem with the Flatron 295LM or do I need a specific driver/adapter to use my DVI?

    I have the same problem....

LG22" monitor with D-Sub and DVI-D connections. Two monitors.... connected to a GeForce NVidia GTX 280 card (dual DVI-D outputs).

It works great when I installed it. Setting up the new MoBo and GPU... which I did with Analog cables connected via adapters at the GPU and into the D-Sub of the monitors.

I went out and bought new DVI-D cables, powered down... reconnected, powered up, and nothing. No signal. I messed with it enough to remove the drivers and run on VGA, but couldn't get the new drivers (of last month) to utilize DVI. Nor could I get both monitors to get a picture on the new DVI cables. I tried almost everything but pulling the card out and starting completely over (removing drivers as well). Hmmm...

I'm seriously bummed, as I wanted to run in high res with gaming and get the best picture. ANY HELP is GREATLY appreciated. (as it's late, and I can't get through to XPXForce tech support)

Did you try your monitor with another output (VGA)? If not, try it.
So, you have to check and make sure where the problem is (display card, monitor, or cable). Try with another cable or monitor. This way you will know where the problem is. If you don't have another monitor, try the monitor you have with build in VGA output on motherboard by taking the display card out.
Thank you,
Tan

I have sapphire ati radeon 5570 graphics card. i have aoc 912sw+ 19 inch lcd monitor. how to connect hdmi port of graphics card with monitor?

the HDMI port is for connecting video and sound to a home theatre / surround sound system. I understand that this monitor only has a VGA connector.

The sapphire ati radeon 5570 graphics card has the following ports on the back to connect to a display: DVI (white), VGA (blue) and DisplayPort (the thin slot in the middle). You can use an ordinary VGA cable to connect the card to your monitor.

Unfortunately you cannot connect this card directly to your monitor using the DisplayPort.

Hope this helps

Connectivity card from montior to CPU is different than other PCs, in back side of the monitor its showing to type VGA and other one DVi connector, In my CPU i dont have the slot for the DVi connector,...

DVI ==> Digital Video Input
If your monitor has both DVI and VGA inputs,
and your PC's video-card has both DVI and VGA outputs,
then buy a DVI-to-DVI cable, and use it, for a better picture.
If your monitor has both DVI and VGA inputs,
and your PC's video-card only has VGA output,
then use a VGA-to-VGA cable.
Or, purchase a video-card with DVI output,
to replace the video-card with VGA output,
and then use a DVI-to-DVI cable.

Dvi-dvi connection to a ati radeon hd4670 does not recognise monitor,ie no display. Using a supplied adapter dvi-vga and a vga cable their ia screen display but in device manager it is a generic monitor?

Was there an installation disc that came with it in the package? Some monitors require software to be used. If you don't have the installation disc, you will most likely find the necessary software on the manufacturer's support site: ProLite Support Driver Download Site.

If the monitor software doesn't solve the problem, try using a different DVI cable. More often than not, these types of problems can be traced back to a faulty cable or port. If the DVI port on the monitor is bad, you will have to use the VGA port as you are now or replace the monitor.

If the DVI port on the video card is bad, you will need to replace it. A good way to test this is if you have another monitor with an available DVI port you can connect to the video card.

Hope this helps! Good luck!

Same problem, acer sucks imo

I think I may have fixed it but I haven't rebooted my computer yet. I uninstalled the latest ATI driver version 9.3 and then installed an older driver version 7.3. Monitor now turns on and off and gets signal every time so far. I'll post back if it the problem comes back after I reboot.

Viewsonic vp912b lcd display will not work.no DVI

Yes you can but there should be an option in the monitor settings for DVI... Maybe if you go into safe mode and attempt adjusting settings for the ati for the dvi output, from what I hear that monitor is nice with the DVI option would be aa shame to lose that.

Cannot get correct resolution

1. It could be limitation of your video card. Older cards would not support high resolution for LCD monitors.
2. Be sure to use DVI(digital) output from your video card. You will not get a good resolution with VGA(analog)
3. When installing driver for a monitor sometimes you will get a chose to install analog(VGA) or digital(DVI) driver. Choose the correct driver.

Good luck!
