Check the back of you fridge and make sure the coils are clean. If you have access to a small air compressor, blow everything out and make sure the motor are is clean. The build up of dirt on the coils will not let the heat escape during the cooling process.

Jenn-Air JCD2389GES problems

The condensor fan cools the condensor coils. If it is running this will cause a no cool situation. Also, if the condensor coils are plugged with dirt that insulates the coils and causes a no cool situation. These things will make it so the freezer isn't cold enough to freeze water so the icemaker will not produce ice. As far as the door edges getting hot. A condensor line runs thru the cabinet between the doors and this is called the mullion. If it is too hot this is a good indication of a bad condensor motor or dirty coils. Clean the coils and check the status of the fan motor and let me know what you find and we will see if we need to go further.

The divider between fridge and freezer is very hot. How can it be cooled down

Clean the coils at the bottom front , behind the bottom kick plate AND pull the refrig out and remove the panel covering the compressor . Once removed , check that the cooling fan ( condensor fan motor ) is not blocked and is running as the compressor runs .

Hi my refrigerator and freezer is not getting cold what could be the problem?

A variety of things could be wrong. First ,check your condensor for proper airflow. Is it dirty? Do you have a fan that moves the air over the condensor? The fan may not be turning and would cause the frig to not cool. Good airflow over coil removes heat from the coil = better cooling inside frig compartment.hope this helps

I want to know about refrigerater but without compressor ,How it run ,Which technology use it

A refrig doesn't cool . It removes heat which is why the coils get hot . With the condensor mounted on the back of the fridge , air curculation dissipates the heat from the coils . Remember , this heat , is the heat being removed from the inside , by the refrigerant being pumped by the compressor . Some fridges , have a condensor fan to remove the heat from the bottom coils , and to keep the compressor cool . The thermostat , tells the compressor to cut off , when so much heat is removed from inside the ref . The property of refrigerants , is to attract heat , and since aluminum is a good conductor , the evaporator coils inside the freezer are made of aluminum . As the coils get colder , the fan inside the freezer , blows into the refrigerator , and returns to the freezer in a circular motion , thereby cooling the refrigerator . During defrost , wheather it be adaptive or mechanical , is to melt the frost accumulated on the aluminum freezer coils . If too much frost accumulation , the frost will act as an insulation , like the insulation on wire , then the ref. will not get cold .

Our 10 year fridg seems to get very hot on the side...wondering what would cause this Model et18pkxaw00

The condensor coils run along the inner sides of the fridge . The heat you feel , is the heat being pulled out of the freezer which is the purpose of "freon" (to attract heat) . A freezer doesn't get cold , "freon" pulls the heat out , which is then cooled by the condensor fan ( fan which cools the compressor and coils ) . The more heat you feel , the colder the fridge should get ( to an extent ) . Also make sure the compressor fan is working .

Maytag freezer don't freeze food or make ice

There could be several things causing the frig to be cold but not cold enough. First check thermostat control and air control. Both should be set in the middle setting for normal operation.Next check to see if evaporater fan is running in freezer. It should be running whenever compressor runs and circulates cold air inside frig as well as freezer. Next check if condensor fan motor is running. It blows air over condensor coils to remove heat. Last ,check condensor itself for dirty coils. If they are matted up with hair dust, etc. it will cause poor cooling. you can give thorough cleaning with vacuum cleaner. Hope this helps

Either side getting cold

Sorry - maybe I did not exactly understand . Anyway the cooling coil is inside the rear of the freezer and cold air for the fridge is blown from that area for cooling. You need to remove the rear freezer cover panel to check the coils for an ice buildup which stops the air flow and cooling.
If you see no ice then you may well be low on freon and most certainly have a leak. Removing the back will give you access to check those coils for a leak also.
To check freon pressures you need to buy a Bullet tap or two which clamp on the high and low side of the compressor and pierce the pipe like a ice maker water tap except the Bullet tap has aconnection for freon test and refilling hose
