I'm assuming the computer is coming on alright. Double check this by putting another monitor in place of the Viewsonic. If the old monitor displays everything like normal then something has failed in the internal power supply. Take the Viewsonic to a reputable repair person or check my website www.micromendllc.com.

I have two Viewsonic VA720, attached to the same computer. About a month ago on of them decided to turn white when it powers off. It will stay that way for a long time, and finally to black. Any idea?

ben7295, Internal power supply failure. Watch some DIY repair videos at YOUTUBE. You may be lucky and find one just like your"s being repaired there. Then you will need to make big decision! Attempt a DIY repair or just trade in for new unit??? After doing your research, return here and rate this response if it helped you make correct decision.

Tried to turn on computer today and monitor is hissing and not coming on.

wmtc348, If monitor screen is black, then most likely the problem is internal to the unit's "switchmode-power-supply/ cold-cahtode-fluorescent-lamp inverter power supply. You didn't state the "date of manufacture" from the rear of unit which is very important to give good better diagnosis. Do some reading in my (louie12fix) and (12fixlouie) Fixya profile and those of "budmrtn" and "buddymc" for more info on doing possible DIY or contracting out the repair work if unit is less than 4 years old. See if Viewsonic has a cash+old unit "swappout" program for your model. Also view some of the many DIY lcd monitor video clips that you will find on YOUTUBE to help you make "fix or trade for new" decision! DIY is $10 to $60 Contract repair is $40 to $90 depending on age and total hours of use unit has on it! Do some reading and view some videos first, before you do anything else!!! 12fixlouie

My Viewsonic 1912w has a totally black screen with power supply

You need to find out if you the 12vdc is reaching the inverter circuits, if you can take good pictures then we can guide you further, there are fuses for the inverter circuits, This is where I post my pictures: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

Viewsonic N3260W made loud pop and will not turn on.

We got the part in today and the hubby fixed the tv. It is as good as new. We are very happy with our $62 purchase.

Go to http://store.ramplus.com/fsfspopfrpos.html

FSP228-3F01, FSP Open Frame Power Supply Replacement for Viewsonic N3260W - 32" LCD TV

It worked like a charm and took about 10 minutes to put in new part and put tv back together.

Digital mode of VX2035wm has stopped working

I recognize the model number as a Viewsonic model.

Check the digital input using another computer to make sure it's the monitor.

If you're brave enough, do this:

Open the unit and check to see if any of the capacitors in the power supply or other boards look domed or vented on the top.

Replace any capacitors accordingly. Use the same value capacitors. Most often, 1000uF 16V or 25V, 470uF at 16 or 25V, 220uF at 16V or 25V.

Capacitors are used to remove ripple from the switching power supply. This ripple, or noise could cause digital circuits to act up. Usually it's easy to spot the bad ones. Good ones look like a perfect cylinder. If they look swollen on the top they are likely bad.

If you do this and it does not solve the problem, the main board could be going bad and require replacement, You should be able to order one from your local Viewsonic service shop. By the way, that model is fairly new. Remember that Viewsonic monitors carry a three year warranty.

I need to find a new circuit board for my Viewsonic N3250W monitor. It stopped turning on a week ago and I opened it up and found 2 x circuit boards. They look easy enough to change out and I was wondering...

i have the same model and same problem. i found a listing for a control board at the viewsonic online store. here is the link:
http://store.viewsonic.com/html/ibeCCtpItmDspRte.jsp?a=b&item=122065
i also called viewsonic parts at 1-888-881-8781, and they said they still make parts for this model.
