Switch to the Second PC [Scroll Lock] [Scroll Lock] [2]
Previous Active Port [Scroll Lock] [Scroll Lock] [Up Arrow]
Next Active Port [Scroll Lock] [Scroll Lock] [Down Arrow]

Switch Audio to the Second PC [Scroll Lock] [Scroll Lock] [F2]
AutoScan Mode [Scroll Lock] [Scroll Lock] [0]
Change All to the First PC [Scroll Lock] [Scroll Lock] [A] [1]
Change All to the Second PC [Scroll Lock] [Scroll Lock] [A] [2]

Other information:
In AutoScan mode, the switch remains on one port for 10 seconds before switching to the next. This time interval cannot be changed. To exit autoscan mode press [Spacebar].

When in AutoScan mode, no mouse or keyboard controls. If the user moves the mouse or uses the keyboard while switching the connection between computer and the switch might be interrupted and cause erratic mouse movement and errant display when using the keyboard.

Maximum resolution supported is 2048 x 1536 @ 75Hz.

If mouse movement is erratic:
make sure you do not have more than one mosue driver installed. Make sure that the driver is either for a standar PS/2 mouse or a Microsoft compatible PS/2 mouse. Make sure you do not have any mouse drivers loaded in your CONFIG.SYS or AUTOEXEC.BAT files. Avoid moving the mouse or pressing the mouse button when switching ports on the switch. You can reset the mouse and resume porper mouse movement simply by unplugging the mouse from the switch and allowing 2-3 seconds before plugging it back in.

You don't need a driver. to switch pc, use keystrokes below.
' Scroll Lock / Scroll Lock / 1 or 2'
'1 or 2' being the pc location on the switch.
hope this helps.

My machine is Acer Aspire M7711 preinstalled with Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium.CPU Q8300, Geforce GTX 130, 600GB Default RAID Mode, 4GB Memory. My problem is Vista Home Premium Installation...

Im assuming its a new machine and when you first booted Vista failed. When you boot up, press the F10 key. This will take you to a menu to start your Acer machine from the begining. It takes a while for the first complete boot. I hope this answers your question. If not, post back and we'll diagnose your problem again. Best of luck!

USB Peripheral Switch F1U201.401

Have you looked at the instructions? Here's a link to the Belkin manual for this product:

http://belkin.httpsvc.vitalstreamcdn.com/belkin_vitalstream_com/support/dl/f1u201-401.pdf

It looks very straight forward. You need to install the driver software on each of the computers then run a USB cable from each computer to the USB switch. Connect these cables to the end of the USB switch that has the four sockets. Next run a USB cable from the end of the USB switch with one socket to the device you wish to control.

When you want to use the USB device from a computer you can select it by right clicking on the USB status icon in the task bar and selecting "Switch" or you can use the hotkey Ctrl+F11 for Windows or Alt+F11 for Mac.

If you find this solution useful I hope you'll rate it...unfortunately most people don't seem to find the time. People like myself are not getting paid for these solutions we're just trying to help.

Logitech mouse freeze every so often for up to 5secs in vista ultimate

Vista is known for compatibility issues, I don't think the problem will be with your KVM switch. If you are using a KVM switch I assume you are at least moderately technically competent.

Possible steps for solution:

  1. Make sure you have enough memory for the vista, it could be paging you driver info. Check the driver in hardware in vista to see if any conflicts.
  2. My favorite: Reset the bios PNP to reorganize resources prior to windows loading. If necessary also load windows in safe mode to also reorganize resources.
  3. Try the mouse connected directly to the machine, eliminating any connection problems.
  4. Try a different mouse to see if the problem continues.
  5. See if logitech has a updated driver to fix this problem.

IOGear 2-port KVM Switch (Keyboard Issue)

I have had the same problem off and on since I bought my Iogear 2-port kvm switch over a year ago. I have a DYNEX wired, multimedia, usb keyboard and a Dynex wired usb mouse. The operating system on my desktop is Windows XP, SP3 and on my laptop it's Windows XP professional.

Yesterday, my keyboard "died" on me about 8 times and each time it requires unplugging the keyboard usb cable from the switch and my laptop, rebooting, then plugging the usbs back in. Really, really frustrating and annoying. I'm not a techno guru, but I got to thinking that maybe the keyboard driver might be the culprit. I decided to go to Control Panel, clicked on Keyboard, then Hardware/Properties/Driver/Update Driver. I clicked on "update driver" and let it find one automatically. It took what seemed like a long time for it to find the driver but it found one. The device name changed to KeyMaestro P2360, the driver updated, and I noticed 2 additional files were added to the System 32 directory.

It's only been a day but so far so good. My keyboard hasn't failed yet since the keyboard driver update. I don't know if this is the solution for you or not, but it seems to be the one for me. I'll know for sure if I can through a few days without it failing again.
