    Hi cooltek,

Had her on Live Session, the Sanyo Visio is hooked to a cable receiver box via Y, Pb, Pr and Audio L/R. The only thing that works on the remote is POWER. INPUT button doesn't do anything as well as all other buttons hence can't select COMPONENT3.

The user was asked to do an overnight reset and will work from there again.

    Cheers.

    Hi again jtrent2,

    Appreciate the update.

The reset is supposed to have restored everything to the factory defaults. Having done so and problem persist, it is possible that:
    1. the remote and/or the INFRARED receiver is defective. One way to determine which is which is by trying another remote. Alternately, you can check if the remote is functioning is by watching the LCD display of a DigiCam or mobile phone with cam while pressing on the different button of the remote while it is pointed towards the lens of the cam;
    2. another possibility is that the unit has an EPROM corruption. If so, it needs to be replaced. On certain instances, it could be the enitre logic board of the unit that has to be replaced.

Option 1 would be relatively ease to perform while option 2 would require the services of a qualified professional.

Incidentally, pls try checking if your cable receiver box has a single yellow video out, you can try hooking it to one of the TV's VIDEO INputs and try that connection instead of the Y, Pb and Pr.

Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

    Good luck and kind regards.

    Thank you for using FixYa.

Jtrent2- O.k you say your t.v has nothing hooked to it at all, what do normally have hooked to it. Do you normally run coax cable,or rca input. The tv is looking for your source ,hook up your regular source, and see what you get. The tv needs to see a source,of some kind. Try hooking a vcr to the cable connector on the back, play a tape and scan your channels. The tv should pick up the vcr as channel 3 or 4 and lock in. Try this and let me know,I can help you. cooltek Mar,3/08

Code for remote tv sanyo

The code is 049 for my Sanyo TV

With my universal remote you hit the code search key until it lights up then you press and release the tv key
Then enter the three digit code and the indicator light turns off if you enter the wrong code the light will flash rapidly.
Aim the remote at your tv and press the on/off key. If your tv turns off you have found the right code.

I have a sanyo tv. Slightly older. Not hi-def or New

Hi:
This may be due to the possiblity that the you are on the wrong input source, If you watch HD Channels then the input source would either be componet or HDMI input. Try changing the input source of the television with the TV's remote until you see the Channels again. IF you are not watching HDTV then the television is on the wrong reception channel for the Direct TV's box. Try channel 4 or 3 or even 73.

Weird message on the tv

Just letting the TV run for about ten minutes while it "thinks" seems to be the best answer. The more I tried to do, the longer it took. But just letting it stay on and sit for a bit it eventually switched over to static, and from the static I was able to get back to the channell with cable.

Frozen on a menu screen

Just fixed ours with the same problem. You need to hit the volume buttons on the remote during the time the screen goes black but BEFORE it gives you the "Connect cables" message. It should trick the TV into giving you a blank channel.

Sanyo TVs are made notoriously cheap, and have little glitches like this. Best of luck, space cowboy.

You should try and download the users manual if you do not have one...I remeber seeing in it that after hooking every thing up, you have to do the channel search twice before the unit will work properly..This is highlited in the manual with correct hookup diagrahm..

I need help now

Have you tried turning your cable box off, given it 3 minutes then turn it back on. We have Time Warner Cable and their remote has the tv and cable buttons at the top right of it and sometimes that helps. Good luck

TV screen on video 2 and remote died

The only way your going to change the video mode is with the original remote. If you need another remote go to http://remotes.com or call 1800 remotes Theres a button on the upper left hand side of the remote called video mode. A universal most of the time will not work this function. You could ask around to your friends and buddies or relitives if anyone has a working Sanyo remote or go to a local retailer that sells Sanyo and see if he would let you borrow one for a little while so you can switch out of the video mode. Good Luck
