Hello!

Please refer to your manual to reset the setting of the camera, or maybe set it to auto so that the camera will automatically set the color.

HOW DO I TAKE BLACK AND WHITE PICTURES WITH MY S4000

From the Shooting menu, select "Finepix Color" then "B/W". Full details are in the "Finepix Color" section of the manual (page 77 in my copy). If you need a copy of the manual, you may download one here.
In general you're better off shooting in color and converting to B&W using a photo editing program on a computer. This gives you much better control over factors such as luminance and contrast.

How do I take pictures in black and white with my nikon coolpix s220?

Press the Auto button (camera icon). Press the MENU button to bring up the shooting menu. Select "Color Options" then select "Black-and-White".

Unless you're just snapshooting, I recommend shooting in color and then converting to black-and-white using photo-editing software on a computer. You get much better control over contrast, brightness, etc. than what the camera gives you.

How do you take black and white pictures on the Olympus X-875 Digital Camera?

Sorry, but the X-875 doesn't have a black&white mode. However, just about any photo editing program should allow you to convert any color photo to black&white. Doing so on a computer is generally better than letting the camera do it, as you have much better control over brightness, contrast, and other settings.

I want to take black and white photos on my Casio Exilim EX-Z30 Digital Camera. Is there a setting that allows me to do this? I have checked the instructions but it doesn't seem to mention how I can change...

The EX-Z30 doesn't have a black-and-white mode. You can convert a color picture to black-and-white using just about any photo-editing program on a computer, and this will give you better control over the conversion than any camera.

How do you take black and white pictures?

Press MENU to display the menu, then select the Shooting menu.

The first item should be "Color", which lets you select the color mode. You can choose B&W for black-and-white or Sepia for sepia-toned.

Take a look under "Shooting Menu" in your manual. It's on page 32 in my copy.

Getting to black and white mode

That depends on the camera. Some cameras don't have a black&white mode. On some it's under shooting options. On others it's in the picture controls.

All in all, you're better off shooting in color and converting in software.

Black and white

Yes it can, it should be under picture styles or something similar to that. However I find it better to take all my pictures in color and convert to black and white on the computer, which keeps my options open and gives me more choices for B&W conversion
