My sansa's song list went empty a few days ago, now it kept turn on, "refresh database", then a white screen pop on, and ten the sansa restart again and go back to "refresh database". I can't connect it into my computer because it kept restarting and my computer cant detect it. I cant change it to MSC mode or update the firmware. What should I do?

When the Sansa reads "refreshing database," what it is doing is going through all the songs you've loaded on to it, pulling out the "tag" information (Artist, Album, Song Title, Genre) so it can add this information to its own database which it uses to display the songs to you in its menus.
If it gets stuck during this process, usually it's because of a corrupt song file, or a song file in a format it doesn't understand.
Note that the e280 is only able to play MP3 and WMA audio formats. If you've loaded a different type of audio file onto your Sansa, you'll need to remove them.
If the songs you've recently loaded have all been MP3 and/or WMA, you may have loaded a corrupted file onto your Sansa. Try removing the songs you recently added, and see if the problem goes away.
1.pull the quit button for like 15 sec maby some sec more..
2.check if you got any trash in your mp4 empty all crap

Lock your sansa and hold the rec button while starting it up. It will go to recovery mode. Hook it up to your computer. Now download this file: "http://www.MegaShare.com/392319" put it onto the device that should pop up that is called "16MB-FORMAT". Once you put this file on there you should take out the thing that links your sansa to the computer and it should install the firmware. It will also restart your sansa. (Make sure that you unlock your sansa first.) And Now all problems should be fixed!
Take out the four screws on the back and pop out the battery then put it back on. Make sure you synced the songs properly. Add to the problem how you added your songs and I might be able to help.
okay, heres wut u can try. try to switch the USB mode from MTP to MSC (in settings, go to USB Mode and switch from MTP to MSC.) And then in the MSC mode connect it to the PC. I dunno bout ur sansa, but my did a Database Reboot, and the computor could see the player. Then u can switch it back to the MTP mode (czu its much mroe comfortable). Although i think the 0.5 gigs are lost forever (i lost 1.5 gigs,)atleast now u can dwonlaod songs on ur player.
