Question about byD sign d:4222 42 in. EDTV-Ready Plasma Television

Cannot access alternate video inputs

I'm trying to hook up a dvd recorder to a ByD:sign 4222. When the recorder video outputs are hooked up to either of the alternate video inputs on the back of the set, it seems there is no way to tell the TV set that it should be getting data from that input.

The only menu options I can find are for antenna or cable, there seems to be no way to select input from video 1 or video 2.

Unfortunately, I have looked all over for that submenu, and as I mentioned, there only seem to be the antenna and cable options ... nothing for video 1 or video 2.

We also don't have the manual, so we can't look it up, and I have been all over the menu a zillion times at this point.

I will save this manual and take it over to the house tomorrow to see if this will work. The menu choices look a little different than the one on the ByD:sign set, but it may be enough to get me where I need to go.

There is a place in the menu where you have to tell it /define what the inputs are to be. they will have a sub menu,
I don't have the manual to show you exactly.

Can we record with our sanyo drw 500 and a digital tv? If so, how do we do this?

If cable/SAT box, hook-up that box video/sound output to DVD video/sound input. If no cable/SAT box, hook-up cable from wall into antenna/cable in on DVD and tune DVD to channel wished, and hook-up DVD TV antenna out to TV antenna in. If DVD has no antenna/cable in, TV must have video/sound output. Hook to DVD video/sound input. Hope this helps.

How do i hook up my dvd recorder to my dvd player? where do i hook my cords to?

You need RCA cables to do this. These have red yellow and white cable ends. The yellow is for video the white is for the left speaker, red for the right speaker.Run the RCA cables from the output of you DVD player to the INPUT of your dvd recorder.Run another set of RCA cables from the output of your dvd recorder to the input of your TV.Most modern tv's have these inputs. These RCA cables can be purchased at Radio Shack or places like Walmarts.

Magnavox DV220mw9 won't record from Tv, hard to connect

check out this diagram, paying close attention to the audio video cable hookups.

assume the cable tv box represents the converter box

you are going to come out of the converter box audio and video outputs into the new magnavox dvd/vcr combo audio and video inputs.

Then out of the new magnavox dvd/vcr combo outputs to the inputs on the tv if it has such inputs. The TV will have to operate on the video input 1 or 2 if the tv has such a thing, use the remote for the tv to adjust the input signal to line in 1 or 2 depending on what it has.

If the tv has no coaxial input or audio video inputs then you might have to use an adapter, you can get these from radio shack.

You say it will not record from the tv, but in all actuality the dvd vcr combo is getting the signal from the converter box not the tv, do you understand what I mean here?

So the dvd vcr combo gets input from the converter box so you will have to set it to view signal from the line input you have plugged in from the converter box. line 1 or 2 or whatever the input is.

the tv will have to be set on the line input to view the signal from the dvd vcr combo.

That is as easy as I can put it. Study the diagram closely. You will see what I mean.

Connect DVD recorder to Video player/recorder- transfer VHStodisc

hook the video output from vcr to dvd input at rear, then hook output from dvd to tv input. note; you can not record protected vcr movies you can only record tv shows from sattelite to vcr or dvd recorder. its best to record straight from sattelite to dvd recorder for picture clarity.

Hook ups

use a video splitter for the audio and video, or go out of the DVD player in to the DVR, out of the DVR into the TV (WARNING!!!! Trying to hook a DVD player to any recording device may trigger the copyright protection, causing blue flashes, and distorted pictures)

I have my television outputs connected to the inputs on the ILO. I then select that set of inputs with the SOURCE button rather then using the built in tuner. Make sure you connect the Video closest to the audio inputs(or... least confusing, try the three front inputs) Hook antenna to tv

DVD-R120 hookup for recording

You will have to hook up your recorder directly to your TV or use as a stand alone recorder.
Other possibility is to buy a 2 way video switch. This will allow you to hook up two video machines to the same input jacks on the RCVR. You just swith between the two devices manually.
Radio Shack usually have these input swithches under $30.

Souud delay on tv /amp

Instead of connecting each device (sky&dvd rec.) to the TV separately, I would simply hook up the sky to dvd recorder (connect the sky output and dvd recorder input), and then connect the dvd recorder output (must be called "play out") to one of the available recorder inputs (which could be a dvr, an empty tape input, etc)of your amp. However, you'll still have to establish a feedback between your dvd recorder and your amp. Therefore, if the dvd rec. supports it, you'll have to hook up the rec.out, which is on your amp.,to rec.in on your dvd recorder. After all these audio connections, you will only need to make a video connection among the sky, dvd rec., and tv. Get a video cable to hook up the sky video output to your dvd recorder's video input, then do the same thing between the dvd recorder's tv output and tv.
