Question about Pioneer DEH-1600 CD Player

1 Answer

Help!! My pioneer DEH-16 cd player in my truck just recently stopped reading cd's. One night i turned the whole thing off and the next morning it would take a disc in, make a noise like it was vibrating or jumping, then spits it out by itself. I tried putting a cleaning disc in but it just does the same thing. What can I do???

Take out and take top off and look down in it and see if there is a foreign object inside maybe broken disc or paper, remove and clean eye put back together.

If the factory harness is still in tact, you can buy an adapter at Best Buy for about 20$ or ask to see one and write down the pins and wires then match it up and cut n splice to your new deck. Hope this helps

Taking Pioneerdeh-16 cd player out of car

Like many stereos, this needed a set of slide in "extractors" to unlock the radio from the radio chassis. They are just short pieces of steel designed too push the metal slots back that lock the radio in. I just stuck a thin screwdriver back down the sides and bent the metal away from the radio so it would slide out.

Did you format it while connected to a PC? If so check that you didn't format as NTFS, the Pioneer HU can only read FAT32 I think.

DEH-P670MP Display goes from regular to extra bright, then back

Your deck has "reverse mode" activated. To turn it off, just turn off the power by holding the source button. The press the preset "5" button. When you turn the deck back on, reverse mode should be disabled. (If this doesn't work, try the same procedure with button "6". One's for reverse mode, the other for demo mode, but I'm not sure I remember which is which).
