The control timer will not power up when the door is closed, but the timer is energized when the door is held more firmly closed by hand. But...it sounds like the mechanical (?) timer gears are catching when the door is closed the additional amount needed to activate the door switch.

Is the door switch adjustable on the Maytag MDB6000? If so where is it located and how is it accessed?

    Thanks

We have a DW6-S ELECT dishwasher. A fuse blew last week and it just won't run. Have changed plugs but to no avail. Any trouble shooting tips?

If you have checked the power outlet and the plug all the remaining troubleshooting will be inside the casing of the dishwasher. I gues if you were competent and confident to remove covers and go further you wouldn't be asking your question.

I am guessing the fuse that blew was either the one in the plug or the consumer unit?
I suggest you call in a competent person and watch what he does very carefully so next time you could manage a few checks yourself.

No power. Will not turn on

It may have tripped the internal breaker, and or the house circuit breaker. Go tot the house fuse box and check that first.

My Whirlpool GU2400XTP dishwasher keeps blowing the fuse. It sat up for 6months because the control panel went out and I couldn't afford to get a new one. Finally replaced the panel and the thermal fuse...

Are you replacing the wires along with the fuse? It is important to change the wires too as they are usually the cause for the fuse blowing. Be sure and get the fuse kit that includes the wires.

Is your water too hot? Hot water is fine but too hot of water can cause the fuse to blow over time. The temp should be somewhere around 120 F. Anything over 130 F is way too hot. I personally don't use a long high steam final rinse or high heat because over time the steam and cause the electronics to short as steam and moisture can get into the keyboard and inside panel.

I plug in my dishwasher and the fuse blew in the socket any ideas shall I try again with another fuse?

No it sounds like a fault. Did the fuse blow immediately or during the program. A multimeter should be used to test for short circuits.

Not following program water is cold

chances are the element blew in the unit ( trippied the fuse) and now is open circuit so not heating and therefore not advancing the wash on.

Blew the Fuse in my GE PDW9880LSS Dishwasher

There is no in-line fuse in your dishwasher. If water has gotten into the junction box, (where the dishwasher and supply line are connected) it could have shorted at that point. Call a technician for service.
