GE Spectra Electric Range

I would like to know how to clean the electric burners when something spills on them, I recently moved into a home with this electric range and the previous owner did not leave the owners manual.

I found a glass ceramic cooktop cleaner at Lowes it is cerama bryte and I also downloaded the owners manual from the internet and I got a lot of infromation from it for cleaning the burners.

Thank you cheffred for the information, it is the correct way to clean caked on spills from the stove top, I would never have thought of a razor blade, I got some information off the cerama bryte ceramic cooktop cleaner bottle that I got from Lowes, they have a website, www.ceramabryte.com , I ordered a kit that has a single edged razor blade with a 2 pc handle for easy cleaning of the stove top, I think I feel safer with the razor blade with the handle on it. You can order all kinds of things at that website for the ceramic cooktop, I have always cooked on gas stoves and if I have trouble keeping it clean I will replace it with a jenair, that is what I used to have.

What I have done in the past, if it is a caked on spill (mess!) I scrap it off with a very sharp razor blade! Hope this helps. Basic soft scrub cleanser works for the easier stuff.

Ge Spectra Xl44-three of 4 gas burners will not ignite without a match.

Electric gas igniters sometimes get stuck in one position causing a clicking sound. The clicking sound that you hear is the electric arc that is pulsing from the igniter conductor (wire) to ground (the gas burner). It receives power from the electrical outlet that the stove is plugged into.
Residue from food and sometimes cleaning products may be preventing the igniter from producing a spark (Arc) to the base of the burner. This is a common problem that occurs when the stove has been cleaned or food is allowed to build up. Make sure that the igniter and the burner base are clean and dry. This will help with proper operation. Oven cleaner and a small tooth brush may be used to accomplish this. Another problem with ignition may occur if you have too little (touching) or too much space between the igniter and the base of the burner; it will prevent the burner from igniting. You should only have a little more space than the thickness of a nickel between the burner base and the igniter. A good “blue” arc from the igniter to the burner base is optimal. If this doesn’t work, you may need to replace the electric igniter module. Good luck.

We had the oven on, and steam came from area behind the back right burner. Food burned a little bit.

Hello- Oven vent exits this area. Very hot exhaust - you will see smoke and or steam when sumpthin burns. Scrape and clean spills w/water. Avoid 'self-clean' function- NOT healthy for ANY range-no matter what the salesman said. - Hope this helps- ED

Small burner of dual surface(right front) stopped working.

Does yours have the (small large burner switch)? If so, try switching it back and forth. It could be defective or your small burner element is bad.

Electric starter for Electric stove

I think you mean you have a gas range with electric ignition. When you turn a burner to light, all burners should spark. The most common problem is boil overs have happened on those two burners. Take the burner head off for sealed burner ranges and clean them out. For non sealed burners, the little holes toward the center side of the burners need to be cleaned. You don't have a model listed, so I can't be real specific.
