Question about Saeco Magic De Luxe Espresso Machine

1 Answer

No power! We have had our Magic De Luxe for 4-5 years. We use it several times a day, every day! After dispensing two shots, the whole thing just shut down, no power! I unplugged it and replugged it in; tried an new outlet; I hit the green and and off switch on the bottom; I completely cleaned it out. Still no luck. :( You suggestions would be greatlyu appreciated.

It probably has a thing called a thermistor in it, which is a safety shutoff to prevent fire when a problem occurs. If the thermistor is defective, it could very well shut you down after being on for only a short time. Unplug it and take it apart. Go ahead and give it a try. Some thermistors are round, about the size of a half dollar piece with two connectors. Just unplug the two wires, remove the thermistor, and replace it with a new one and re-connect the wires. Other thermistors are the shape of the pointed end of a pencil and are about 3/4 inch long and about as big around as a pencil. There will be a wire coming out of both ends. Cut these wires, unless they unplug, and replace the thermistor. To help find the thermistor, follow the three plug wires into the machine. Forget the green wire. The thermistor will be connected to one of the other two wires, usually the black one. New thermistor should cost only $5 or $10 bucks, if not less. Keever

Keever's right. Thermistor inside the machine. Saeco will not sell it to you. Has to be sent into a repair center.

Worse case it could also be the board and here's where the bad news comes in.

Saeco does not carry the magic deluxe boards anymore.

Fix Saeco Magic De Luxe Not Grinding problem

If you leave the machine for a while, the residual ground beans in the grinder stick and clog the grinder.
- thus "timing out" with the "No beans" light.

After taking apart the grinder and cleaning it out, it still didn't grind. -
Then we ran some ground beans through it a couple of times, and then put fresh whole beans on top of the preground, and it took.

Worked great after that.

No Crema

If your talking about the tube on the brew unit, you are probably missing the spring or if you have the spring its upside down. Again if this is what you are taking about is the check ball at the bottom of the spring(ball in first, small end of the spring on the ball, O-ring, then the manifold)These things are important for creama.

Saeco Magic Deluxe resets itself before completing brew cycle

Hi Try reprogramming the machine. Push and hold the button for the coffee you want, but hold it all the way through the process. Don't release the button until you get the amount of coffee you want for that button, then release the button. That should get you the same amount next time. You can do this for each coffee button. If that doesn't fix it, then you might need a new flow meter.

Saeco Magic de luxe not grinding beans

Try setting the grind to the coarsest setting, if you still have the same problem, check the wire connections to the board, it might have been reversed.

Water pump not working

Can you please try firstly making a "Pre ground Coffee" on your coffee machine by selecting the pre ground button and making a coffee without coffee in the bypass.

If that doesnt work, let me know.

If it does, open slide the grinder right up to the coursest setting and see if water comes through.

Once again if that doesnt work let me know.

Saeco Veinna no power

There is an overheat protector on the boiler. If the unit is a newer say 2 years or younger some of the sensors are weak an pop thus shutting down the whole system. You would have to take the unit completly apart to get to it (not recommended) Google "authorized Saeco Repair and find a repair center and have them fix it. Probably less than $100
