sometimes, there are two VGA ports on the back of the computer. If you have another monitor, does the dell work with that monitor?

Why did you need t replace the monitor on the Dell 260? If it was because the old monitor and PC didn't show anything on the screen, then I would say that the PC is at fault. Since we know that the new monitor is working, I can only assume the 20 is the culprit. Possibly the PC's resolution is set different. Perhaps the 260's video is corrupted. Good luck

Optiplex gx150 I get a message telling me it is loading my personal settings but doesn't load them.

Hi,
The problem you are facing is that , windows login screen has got corrupted and failes to load your profile.
Restart the computer and tap on the F8 key a couple of times .Select the option "Safe mode". Login as admin a/c.

Disconnect all peripherals except keyboard ,mouse ,monitor and power cord from the back of the tower.

Run a system restore
1.click start>all programs>accessories>system tool and system restore.

if the system restore doesnot work , then you would have to create a new user account .
1. click start>click control panel>click user accounts > create a new account

Monitor compatibility

It will be compatible with the system, just keep on thing in mind, whatever resolution you set your computer at you may have to keep the ratio aspect active so that way the screen looks properly displayed.
