Question about Motorola Mobility MD481SYS Cordless Phone
My 481 cordless with extended handset. The ON button & Off button of both handsets no longer work. This has been the best phone we have owned, however Motorola Does Not repair this model and it has been discontinued. Is there a repair shop with a reasonable charge that can repair them or can I remove the case to try and clean the buttons ? or shall I just web search to find new ones.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: Can't register Motorola handset.
There is a very little that we can proceed to here, as these phones are known for the problem that you are facing & most of the customers that I have myself seen ... finally get rid of them buying new ones,
Let’s try resolving it though;
1.) Open battery compartment, remove battery. Also remove belt clip on back of phone. You might have to pry it a little.
2.) Pop off the access panel on upper back of phone. This panel merely hides two screws.
3.) Unscrew all visible screws, Separate front and back of phone. You might have to wiggle the pieces relative to each other. The rubber strips on the sides are held in place with dovetail grooves.
4.) The phone should come apart in three sections.
5.) At this point, get some cotton swabs and alcohol. Dip a swab in the alcohol and rub down the contacts on the keypad and little black pads underneath each button on the rubber membrane.
6.) Let it dry and re-assemble. Your phone should now work properly.
Please let us know if that was helpful enough.
Good Luck & Thanks,
