Earlier today I had a Red Power light and only a green wireless light. Now I have no lights when I plug in the 2wire router / modem. Is the equipment dead or is there something I can do besides replace...

Try the following steps:
1. Disconnect the 2wire gateway power adapter.

2. Reinsert the power adapter directly into the wall socket.

3.Remove any power strips or surge protectors temporarily to ensure that these items are not preventing the 2wire gateway proper operation.Note: Make sure that you are using the power adapter that came with your 2wire gateway.

4. Plug the power adapter into a different wall socket in another room.

5. Press the red factory reset button if available.

6. If the power light is still red, then you will need to replace the 2wire gateway.

I have an AT&T Uverse provided 2Wire 3800HG-B gateway in the basement. My desktop PC is on the 2nd floor and connects to the internet at 11Mbps when the TV is not on. When we turn the HDTV on, we lose...

Turned on the TV, but not the Uverse box and still lost the internet. Determined that it was the Panasonic Home Theater wireless speakers which operate at 2.4 GHz causing the interference. Next step is contacting Panasonic to see if they have a solution for that issue.

Connecting 2wire router with desktop pc and laptop

hi! try to check the settings on your 2wire modem, you can do this by going to gateway.2wire.net, run the system setup wizard, when you get to the ppp authentication page, check the username & password on it, it should be the one that you setup for your ISP account. as for the wireless on the desktop, it depends on the brand of the wireless adapter, be sure you have installed the drivers for this adapter. you may need to go to the client utility manager or the wireless adapter shortcut/icon on your computer screen then configure it to "see" the 2wire network. make sure wireless encryption is turned on in the 2wire modem's MDC, you can do this by going to homeportal/management, or go to gateway.2wire.net/mdc.
