Question about Motorola Talkabout SX700 2-Way Radio
Can't recieve or transmit, I told my desk people not to leave them on the charger all day with the power still on. Could that be the cause of the promblem and is it worth fixing or should I buy new ones
I would definitely recommend against leaving the radio turned on while it is sitting in the charger. This can damage the radio and it can also contribute to decreasing the lifetime of the battery pack as well.
Whether or not the problems you are experiencing are related to leaving the radio turned on while it is charging is hard to say. I would recommend that you start by swapping the battery from the working radio into the non working one. If the problem is the battery, this should allow you to determine that and you can just simply get a replacement battery pack.
If the battery isn't the problem then the radio probably has a hardware problem that would require service. Given how affordable these kinds of two-way radios are, you are probably going to be better off just purchasing a replacement at that point.
