Are there free road info download available

Garmin Express Garmin Express but it probably won't be free. $50 for one time or $90 for lifetime... dont get the lifetime, get a new unit instead.

Free Garmin Map updates can be downloaded within 90 days of purchase or are free for a life time when it's purchased with lifetime map updates.
Software updates are always free.

Maps / software can be updated online by registering your Garmin at MyGarmin.com using the serial number and your name. On this website you'll be guided through the steps to download / install the required web browser plugin to communicate with your Garmin Nuvi.

When connected over the USB cable - MyGarmin.com shows compatible map or software updates. These will be free in the conditions mentioned above.

Note that updating a map online requires a 3Gb download. This can take a very long time and requires a stable internet connection. Also your Mac need to have at least 5 Gb of free space to install the Map.

A Nuvi software update is much smaller and takes less time to complete.

Are your maps updated?

If so the road you on a new road that hasn't been programed into the maps yet?

Could be a few things going on, lost satelite, or a new road.... word to the wise Always carry a road map in your vehicle, GPS is a great tool but not always 100% right especialy if your on a new road, Maps are updated I believe every 6 months or more.

I have run into this myself along a certain stretch of highway consistantly. I was told it had to do with the geometry of the satellites in the sky in relationship to where I was at the time. I just deal with it as it doesn't happen very often - and only for a short stretch or so (a mile or two).

One thing you can check are the settings to make sure you have the nuvi set to "stay on road" Make sure you've set it for a mode other than "pedestrian" - which of course would allow you to leave the marked roads.

The Nuvi 760 is not designed for commercial vehicles. Garmin does sell units that are, like the Nuvi 465T. According to their website, www.garmin.com, the Nuvi 465T offers the following:

You have to go to GARMINS web site and download the map updater program called Garmin Download Manager. to your pc - then put it on the Garmin.
