Generic problem for all Answering Machines

Hi
I have a Radio Shack Answering Device (Sprint SP-812) that is displaying an F1 message flashing in the display. I have some precious messages saved on this device and want to retrieve them. (A message from my father who has since passed away). Any help would be appreciated.

1 Other User Has The Same Problem

My SP-812 is beeping and flashing F1. None of the buttons work. It will not play, turn off, on, set the clock, nada. I have had it unplugged for over an hour. I have tried holding various buttons down for 10-20 seconds. It does not have a back up battery and I can't find a reset button in the manual or by examining the device. Please Help.

The F it is displaying means current memory is full, I would reccomend playing your messages and then recording them onto a portable cassete recorder, or even play it back and record it onto your pc if you have a mic.
