Have the hd-56g647 model and has no sound the picture is good

I have the HD-56G657. When I first bought the TV, we did not know that you have to let it cool/shut down completely before trying to turn it on again. Plus: It was under warranty Minus: It took almost 6 months for them to finally fix the problem. (A sound board or something was fried) I think the part if you are not still covered under warranty is like $180 +labor.

The sound IC of your television is bad that is why you have picture but no sound.

The sound IC is the card that the speakers are connected to, and it is connected to the main board of the television.

Once you get the sound IC replaced, your television will be in good conditions once again.

My picture is not good. I'm hooked up to digital

to get best picture and sound you need to use HDMI connection. This is normally if you have a HD cable box. If you don't have a HD box, use the coax connection directly from the cable line. On your TV, hit the menu button, use the arrow up/down to select manual channel search, select cable and hit enter. this will scan all the digital and analog channels.
