I want to format my laptop what do i need to do?

actually you don't need any cd to format drives,just right click on the drive,select format

Formatting a laptop is the same as doing it on a desktop computer.
If you are using the Windows installation CD then to get the laptop to boot up with the Windows CD you can change the BIOS boot startup device and make the CD the first boot device.

Use any Microsoft OS CD and remove the unwanted partitions.

Yes, reseting your laptop to original setting is possible.
It is called as formatting.If you format all the content in laptop will be lost.Please take back up and then format it.

Please get the boot up CD for your operating system(windows 2000 ,XP)

Put the CD in drive and restart the laptop.
It ask 'reboot from CD'.
Give enter it will start formatting the laptop.After formatting the laptop will be brought to original settings

Normally when u restore, formatting is being done at a certain step. Therefore no need to worry as the OS is included in the recovery. However if it's exactly how u r stating, therefore buy an external 2.5" HDD casing,insert ur HDD in it, plug it to the USB of any computer or laptop & get it formatted.

You can still use your laptop even if your battery died & could not be recharged any longer. Just remove it from the laptop, & power the laptop directly from its power brick till you get a replacement battery.

You will need to use either the recovery disc or windows installation cd to do the format.

To format your laptop you need to insert a windows installation disc into the drive, restart the machine and before windows loads up you should see a "press anykey to boot from cdrom"
press key and follow the instructions, it will give you the option to format the laptop before it reinstalls it again.
