Videoing without any sound

I use an editing program, Pinnacle Studio, where I have picture and sound in diffrent chanals. I may remove the sound and replace it with another sound source, or I may add music and surpress the recorded sound occationally. All this is described in the manual. I suppose you will have the same options in any decent editing program. Good luck!

The camera did not record voice of movie when I use the optical zoom

From page 80 of this manual: "Optical zoom blocks sound being recorded when zooming."

Many cameras do this as otherwise the recording will include the sound of the lens being zoomed. There are two possible workarounds for this: 1) Don't use the optical zoom while recording. 2) Use an external sound recorder to record the soundtrack and mix them together on the computer.

Will the Vivitar SI 70-210 mount on my Nikon D90. Will the AF work properly? Thanks

Vivitar makes lenses for a variety of cameras, so a lens for a Canon, for example, will not fit onto a Nikon. Assuming the Vivitar lens has a Nikon mount, then yes, it will mount on the D90 and yes, it will autofocus properly on the D90.

Lens age

22801413- 22 means the lens was made by Kiron. 8 is the year- 1978. 01 may mean week 1, according to Vivitar serialization scheme. Week 1 is the first week of that year. But I have two 24-48mm Series 1 lenses, and one is a 227000xx and the other is a 22800xxx, so I'm thinking that on the 24-48mm, the only info is manufacturer (the 22) and year (the digit following the 22), and that the rest are sequential serial numbers for that year's run. So yours is the 1413th 24-48mm lens made by Kiron for Vivitar in 1978. Mine are in Nikon mounts- the 227 is non-AI, while the 228 is AI. I recently took them apart to clean the aperture blades, and the internals from the blades back are completely different designs. Both are built like tanks inside, however.

Vivitar 75-300mm lens

The Vivitar brand has been bought and sold quite a few times in the past 10 years.

KEH Camera has quite a few used Vivitar lenses listed on their website. They are priced very low, from just $4 to $49, so it's highly unlikely that the lens is worth repairing.

How do I know what size lenses to look for?

Hi rlopez117,

Congratulations on the aquisition of such a great vintage camera!

Pentax cameras use a mount known as M42. This means it is a 42 millimeter diamater. You may also find this referred to as the Pentax mount, as Pentax (Asahi Optical) made this popular in the United States. With any camera, any lens you purchase should match the mount of the camera in order to be used together.

Thank you,
Jason,

FujiFilm FinePix A400 Movie Import

There should be sound when you playback right on the camera, unless your camera doesn't support movie with audio. I have an A345 which does so i'm assuming yours should. It's possible the volume on your camera is turned down too, you can turn it up by pressing the menu button, and scrolling over to option. To import the movie all you need to do is the same thing you do with pictures. You have to have set up the software on your computer first and then you use the usb cable it came with and plug it in.. the menu should pop up automatically and just choose to view files thru the finepix viewer and it will guide you through the import. Hope that helps :)
