Question about PC Desktops

Getting photos to load to usb memory flash.

I have HP PAVILION 7940 PC,with aprox 400 photos in my documents.
i just cannot work out how to transfer images to a usb memory flash, something always comes up and says its unable to complete the task.i did manage to get about 20 out of 50 photos to transfer from one file.unfortunately i do not have any instruction manual for the pc,it was an ex demo model from comet and all the discs, manuals etc had been disposed of by accident.the pc is aprox 4 years old,it has about half the memory left.
have you any ideas i can try?
regards from

What is the size of the flash drive ? try a few pics at a time and see how many you can get. the file format on the flash drive is FAT and I think 1 GB is the transfer limit...Ok few at a time ..do not select all at once.

I hate to think but i hope that it is not a hard drive error.

Will m7350n memory chips work in a m7000

A) HP Support > HP Pavilion Media Center m7350n Desktop PC > Main Support page,

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?product=1818343&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&jumpid=reg_r1002_usen_c-001_title_r0001

Product information > Product specifications > HP Media Center m7350n Desktop PC Product Specifications,

Memory

PC2-3200

That is DDR2 Sdram at 400MegaHertz. (400MHz)

Has 240 gold plated contact pins on the bottom.120 on each side.
One Locating Notch on the bottom also.

Problem is I find no HP Pavilion m7000, or HP Pavilion m7000n; Desktop PC.

Look on the back of the computer for the white Service Tag.
What is the Product Number?
P/N = Product Number

I can tell you that if it's a Pavilion m7060n Desktop PC, it will work,

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00306958&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&lc=en&product=459895

Same thing if it is a Pavilion m7070n Desktop PC,

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00306962&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&lc=en&product=459896

Be SURE you FOLLOW Anti-Static Procedures, when working on your unplugged from power computer.

Everywhere on the Ram Memory module ('Stick'), EXCEPT the gold plated contact pins at the bottom; is the BODY.

The Body is coated with a see-through protective plastic.

Handle the Ram Memory module by the Body.
Refrain from touching the gold plated contact pins.

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS TO COMPUTER
If your photos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

What's youComputer won't boot with 16 gig of memory Problemsr problem?

see:
http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02155464

Go down to where it says "Memory upgrade information"
be sure you are using the correct memory. The machine should also give you beep codes or flashing light codes if it doesn't get into the BIOS screen.
If you're using the proper memory, try to install it one stick at a time to see if it works at all

My computer will not power on, only a flashing green light on the back is on. I just bought a new computer and would like to transfer my files to my new computer. Why my old computer will not power on?...

Hi and welcome cj4man1 !
Extract the Hdd out of your old computer . Place it in a external usb box and connect the box to your new pc . You will be able to access and transfer your data .
The issue about your old computer is another matter an could have several reasons , such as power supply , damaged Hdd , defective memory , damaged motherboard ...etc ...

Changing the card reader

HP Support > Pavilion a1730n desktop PC > Manuals,

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3339287&lang=en&

Click on the first file listed,

Upgrading and Servicing Guide (1.39M) {1.39MB}

This is a PDF file. May take a few seconds to see the first page after you click on the above file name.
Will also take additional time to fully download.

At the top of the PDF file is the Page Number box. It is to the Right of the blue Down Arrow.
Use the Down Arrow until you come to Page 7.
Pages 7 through 10 detail how to remove and replace the Memory Card Reader drive.

This page shows an illustration and photo of the motherboard,

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00757531&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&site=null&lang=en&product=3339287&key=null

The page automatically open with a photo of the motherboard. (Takes a split second )
Scroll down, and click on the + sign next to > Motherboard layout.

Now you can look at the illustration, and refer back to the photo.

Look at the bottom of the motherboard illustration.
You will see F_USB1 and F_USB2.

One of those USB headers is used for the Front USB ports on the Front Panel of the computer, the other one is to connect the gray cables from the Memory Card Reader. (I'm thinking F_USB2)

If you need guidance please post in a Comment.

How do I transfer photos from an old HP Pavilion 6830 CPU to our new computer, a HP Pavilion a6750f?

easiest way would be to use a usb thumb drive. Better yest invest in an good external Hard drive - move all of your photo from old pc (use my computer - select folder and move) then connect the external hard drive to your new pc and "copy" to your new pc. when all done you even have a backup copy of your precious photos in external hard drive...
