The rinse agent dispenser holds up to 8 ounces of rinse agent and only 2-3 small teardrop sized drops are added in the rinse cycle ,thats all it takes per cycle so a full dispenser could take 2-6 months to become empty depending on how often ya run the dishwasher. As far as some detergent remaining, check the filter in the bottom of the tub for some blockage,if the water cant spray forcefully because its hard getting into the pump from filter blockage it cant wash that well
Some things you can do to try to improve your dishwasher's performance:
1) Make sure your dishwasher rinse agent dispenser has rinse agent in it. The filler is usually close to where you put soap in the dishwasher.,
2) Consider switching brands of dishwasher detergent, if you are experiencing problems. Depending on the water condition in your area, certain brands work better than others. Ask your neighbors what works well for them.
3) try different wash cycle's with your dishwasher. Sometimes the economy cycle doesn't work as well as it should.
Make sure the drain hose high loop is installed properly, normally you
have this in the sink cabinet high up. Otherwise the water inside the
machine may drain "by itself", leaking through the inactive drain pump during the wash cycle and cause this and other
Your problem is: older dishwasher-kenmore ultra wash. Serial no ff3902085, model no :110764511. You have no info on how to run it. Does it take rinse agent?
Operation is simple and yes it will take rinse agent if you so desire. Rinse agent can be purchased either liquid, dry or combined with the soap in a tablet (I don't recomend). The dry comes in a tiny basket you hang from the upper rack. The liquid goes in the dispencer next to the soap dispencer. Just twist the plug counter clockwize about 1/4 turn and lift out, pour in no more than 4 oz. slowly and replace plug. Forget about it for a month. It will use a few drops with each use. Fill soap dispencer about half full and close. Choose wash cycle (normal, etc.) then press start. Thats it.

I just read this for the same problem: push sanitize, then heat and dry, sanitize, heat and dry, sanitize, heat and dry, cancel, then open and close the door. It worked. The dishwasher is running correctly even as I type this.
