Question about Samsung Digimax S730 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Samsung S730 problem.

After a while my camera started acting up when I go to shoot a picture.
When it is normal settings and I push the button, rather then take the picture it switches to movie setting. The same thing happens in other modes. It just
constantly changes to different setting and doesnt shoot a picture.
Any help or do I need a new camera?

Yes, I have been doing that as well. Maybe I should keep them out a bit longer, that seems to help for a bit. It doesn't solve it completely but I guess I will have to just deal with it.
    Thank you.

Mine did that. I just took the batteries out and kept them out for a few minutes when I put them back in it stopped. I think I turned the settings around a few times after I took the batteries out.

Why does it keep saying memory full after I have only taken 6 pictures

You need to go to the store and buy Samsung S730 A-DATA 4GB SDHC Memory Card (Class 4)
It is worth about 8-20$. The memory card is used to save pictures. Here is an example: http://www.cellularfactory.com/camera/SAMSUNG/3/46100/

Hello from Bulgaria :) can you tell me the settings for optimal quality of taking pic with samsung S730? because sometimes when i change it to manual or ASR the picture quality is awfulll... thanks

That depends on the subject matter and, more importantly, on what YOU want the picture to say. Usually for landscapes you'd want a deep depth of field while for portraits you'd want a narrow depth of field. You wouldn't want a picture taken outdoors on a sunny day to have the same mood as a picture taken at night. That's why there are so many settings. If there was such a thing as optimal settings for all pictures, we might not need anything other than on/off switch and the shutter release button.

Again, YOU must decide the settings (even if it's only to hand control over to the camera in one of the automatic modes). You and I could be taking pictures of the same thing at the same time using the same type camera, and there's a good chance we'd be using different settings. It's not that one set of settings is better or worse than the other.

How do I set the self timer on the Samsung S730 camera?

Press the self-timer button (right-arrow on the circular multiselector) until the desired mode shows on the monitor. Your choices are 2 seconds, 10 seconds, and double. Press the shutter release button to start the timer.

Full details are in the "Self-timer/Right button" section in the manual, page 27 in the edition on Samsung's web site at

Everytime I use the flash setting something will pop up saying F 2.8 1/45

This is the "speed" at which your camera is taking your picture. You should be able to change your settings to something different. I can't tell you what "f-stop" to chage it to as it depends on the amount of light you have when shooting pictures. Take a look at your manual and see if there is a section for F stops or for Aperture. Those are the two things you need to be looking for in your manual.
Hope this helps.
