Take an Ethernet cable, and connect one computer to one of the LAN ports on the router.
Click Start
Click Run
Type CMD and press ENTER
Type IPCONFIG and press ENTER
Look for a line of output like:
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 264.468.326.124
Start Internet Explorer
Type http://264.468.326.124 and press ENTER
Login to the Router (ID/password required)
Run the Wireless Networking Setup Wizard,
and create an SSID and create a WEP-key.

Connect MSI RG54G2 to speadstream 4200

so that means if you connect the computer to the modem, it works but not with the router.
it seems that the router and the modem are not communicating with each other.
When you connect the computer to the modem , check the IP address through the modem. If ti is private IP address then you will need to change the settigns on the router.

Need instal software for msi rg54gs wireless router?

is the router brand-new? If not, trying re-setting it using the recessed reset button at the back....it is possible that a previous configuration of the router might have changed it's local IP address.

Help?

Something internally died. if you are willing to start replacing chips inside the thing. let me know the part numbers from the chips.
If you dont want to get into surface mount soldering I would suggest canning the thing or EBAYing it as parts.

MSI RG60G : Firmware upgrade failed or ROM not burn in flash completely

Did the firmware install completely, or did the download get interrupted?

In the manual it should tell you how to log into the router. Have you tried doing so?

If the download was interrupted then you have a corrupt version of firmware that leaves your router inoperable. The only way to correct this is to reinstall the firmware.

Router Installation and configuration

You need to logon to the router via a computer that is on the same network as the router. open internet explorer and enter the routers IP address.example > http://192.168.2.1 The router's IP address should be on the bottom of the router, if not, on the computer you are using, click start, click run, type cmd and hit the enter key at the ms/dos window, type ipconfig /all
look for the default gateway IP address, this is your router. once you get the router's setup page, logon the router and configure your router. BPCS
