How to replace backlight?

Not an easy job. The LCD backlights are usually contained inside the LCD assembly itself. Changing one requires a VERY steady hand and a VERY clean work environment or else you'll end up with oil/dust/whatever else inside the LCD assembly. Oil on the florescent tube itself will shorten the life of the backlight so it'll also require gloves. Disassembly of the LCD itself will also likely require very small, specialized tools to get it apart without warping or damaging the thin aluminum housing. And once inside there are normally a number of layers of materials that will have to go back together in exactly the same order. REALLY should NOT be undertaken outside of hands of a professional shop unless you are whiling to scrap the entire screen if the attempt goes south.

With that out of the way, if you are still interested in attempting it, remove the screen assembly (process will vary greatly by machine but generally, open the laptop up all the way to the motherboard, disconnect any connecting wires that run up to the screen section, make sure you also get the wireless antennae wires that usually run up there as well, remove any retaining screws in the two metal brackets that hold the screen section to the base, remove the screen section, remove any screws in the screen section, carefully pry the front bezel off of the screen, disassemble, and you have the LCD assembly)...hopefully I've deterred you enough at this point that you aren't so much interested in carrying on with the plan but if you are here we go...

Once you have the screen section out, there will likely be a couple of screws in the side of the aluminum case, some aluminum tape, possibly some black fabric tape, heck I've even seen masking tape holding the LCD assembly together depending on the manufacturer. You need to remove all of this so that you can get the aluminum housing apart. Take care to work slowly once it comes time to separate the halves as I've had them fly apart on me and getting them back together in the right order at that point is a really really pleasurable experience...
Once the halves of the aluminum housing are apart you should see what else needs to be done to get access to the backlight tubes. I've been working on laptops for almost a decade now and even I have only accepted that job 4 maybe 5 times total. My normal response and what I suggest to folks when they bring me a bad backlight is this:

Jump on ebay and try to find a complete screen assembly. It'll cost you a little more money but it will save you hours of work, and its a much safer job to be undertaken at home.

One more time so I know it's been stated... If you aren't EXTREMELY comfortable with working on laptops AND extremely comfortable with working with small delicate pieces, do yourself a favor and don't attempt it. Else you'll end up with a lovely pile of hundred of pieces of useless bits. Hope this helps in some way and GOOD LUCK!

Slow wifi on Sony Pcg-21313l

So, If you have internet connection speed problem with your wireless try with the following steps,
1.) Reset the wireless router by using the power switch on it or by unplugging it and plugging it back in.
2.)Place the wireless router in an ideal location. The higher it is, the better, but don't put it near metal objects.
3.)Get as close as possible to the router with whatever device you're trying to connect.
4.)Keep the router and your connecting device away from other electronics. You should especially keep away from phones, fax machines and microwaves. etc.,

Replacing Power Button Circuit Card on Gateway W730 K8X Laptop

The instructions for replacing the keyboard include the cover you have to remove to replace the power button pcb. The power button pcb is attached to the bottom of the bezel that covers the hinges/button array. In a nutshell you just remove the 2 screws indicated in the instructions, pry the hinge covers up a bit, then gently pry the bezel up from the bottom. remove the ribbon cable, pull back the small piece of tape, remove the three small screws holding the pcb on, and remove it from the spring clips.

Just try going to wallmart and they usually have a universal power adapter that has different settings for the voltage and about 15 different plugs. If its some special adapter they only make, try ebay, its worth a shot.

Martin Yale Paper Folder Problem

Im not familiar with a paper folder but if its anything like a printer, it probably has a maintenance kit you can buy or you may have to replace the rollers. Alot of the times they have a rubber grabber that wears out or a roller that gets dirty and doesnt catch the paper evenly and pulls it through at an angle, crinkling it. Check for debree or paper particles that may be floating around inside.
